If the Stormtroopers are the Empire's shock troops, why are they assigned to patrol on backwater planets and not the Imperial Army?

It's something that I cannot grasp.

Andor, Solo and even the EU showed us that, apparently, the majority of the Empire ground forces were composed of the Imperial Army and that the Stormtroopers were the shock trooper.

So why do we see them on unimportant or even backwater planets?

Why would the Empire send these shock troops to patrol the streets of Mos Eisley, Lothal or Kijimi when the Army would be enough?

The Imperial Army should be portrayed more often OR should not exist because there may be too much Stormtroopers in the movies to justify their existence.

What do you think?

I don't get what is the role of the Imperial Patrol Troopers.

Wookieepedia says that about the Patrol Troopers :

"As the Empire reinforced its hold on planets across the galaxy, local defense forces were being supplemented and eventually completely replaced by stormtroopers."

Which is...false?

We see Patrol Troopers on Corellia by 13BBY and even after that, local defense forces continue to be used sporadically in the Empire (best exemple being on Morlana One/Ferrix or even Bespin).

And even when these local forces needed Imperial reinforcement it was by the Imperial Army and some Stormtroopers but never Patrol Troopers.

We also see them in Jedi Survivor in the streets of Coruscant which is a role I may get more even tho I don't understand what they would do that a regular Stormtrooper or the Coruscant Police couldn't.

Any Intel or even head canon that could make that clearer?

Do you prefer the regular Xenomorph as bipedal or quadrupedal when running?

Might be an odd question but I just saw Alien Earth and I really don't like how the Xenomorph runs.

To me, its movements look more like a Runner than a regular Xenomorph.

IMO they should always be bipedal except when they have to run in cramped, uneasy terrain or fight an enemy.

I feel like the 4 leg run looks too animalistic, brutal, not calculated enough.

My golden standard as always been Alien Isolation.

A strict bipedal that stalks and runs with precision but will resort to a quadrupedal stance if it has to.

Are there any other creators in the likes EC Henry?

To say EC Henry is a gift to our community is an understatement.

Are there any other creators on YouTube or social media in general that expand the Star Wars Universe with this quality?

Not just speaking about lore or creating fan films because I saw many.

But really creating scenery, ships, lore that fill the gaps of the saga.

(btw if you don't know EC Henry stop everything you do and watch his videos, rn)

Saw no one talk about the G-17 Imperial Reaper of "Star Wars Starfighter" any thoughts ?

Even tho we know next to nothing about it, what do you think about the "fastest starfighter ever built" ?

First Look at New Republic Infantry (+Commandos/Guards?)

The infantry look like the regular Rebels Infantry (like on Endor) but with the NR blue and white.

The second unit guarding the door looks very good, don't really know what they are tho

So glad I found this subreddit.

This week I stumbled upon this sub and I'm happy to see it thrive.

I'm sick of the negativity surrounding the Sequels, sick of seeing Prequel fans making the EXACT SAME comments they had to go through at the time the Prequels came out. People don't understand that the Sequels will become more and more fleshed out, just like Clone Wars did with the Prequels.

Except, the Clone Wars were just 3 years of the story. We have more than 30 years to explore between episode VI and what we will get in Starfighter. And projects like Mando, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, Skeleton Crew,... Are already going in this direction.

There are things I don't like in the Sequels, the treatment of Finn in 8-9 and Palpatine coming back for example. But projects like the Bad Batch already starts explaining and merging the story of the Sequels in the grand scheme of the saga.

But THE thing I hate even MORE. Is people completely hating on the fact that Rey is a Skywalker. YES the scene is extremely cheesy. But the fact that Rey was adopted by the Skywalkers should never be put in question. She is a Skywalker, without a doubt.

Cuz no matter what, the moral of this trilogy is clear :

"the legacy of the past does not dictate your future, it's who you choose to be that shapes it"

Thanks, it's a pleasure to see some positive around this trilogy. May the Force be with you.

My map doesn't show the areas I discover.

Just got to Dromund Kaas, I'm at the Outpost Tempest in the milddle of the map but the map doesn't lif the fog of war.

The places are in my database but it doesn't show up.

Never had this problem until now, do you know what I can do?

(Yes I tried to log out, even stop the game and came back and didn't change a thing)

EDIT : Just noticed that the areas DOES show up but in an other shade of grey with bugged colors (like green and blue on the edges)

Republic Starfighter BEFORE the Clone Wars?

Even in a time of peace, the Republic would need a fair amount of Starfighter.

Not only to secure Coruscant if needed but also to defend some systems unable to have a decent local security.

My question : What could these starfighters be in Canon?

We never saw them or even known about them, ever.

We saw their Diplomatic Cruisers (Consular), transports (CSS1), and we know the Dreadnought class was already getting old

But what about the Starfighters??

What is your opinions?

Have I forgot about something I didn't see?

I would like so much to see a take on these starfighters by EC Henry

We saw the New Republic Navy Troopers, we saw them on ships and on Coruscant (and a little bit on Corvus) but we never saw the real New Republic infantry fighting on the battlefield against the Remants of the Empire.

What would you want? To keep the disciplinary design of the Navy? Or lean in the more grounded military side like for the Rebels on Scariff for example? Or even going slowly in the design of what will be the Resistance Troopers?

I'm curious on what would be your takes

Edit : I don't know what happened to that poor Resistance trooper at the end
