How can I resolve this in my book journal? (Not enough space as I’m a book fiend this year apparently)

How can I resolve this in my book journal? (Not enough space as I’m a book fiend this year apparently)

Hiya everyone,

I have a book journal, which I absolutely love, but I’ve run into a bit of a snafu as I’m actually reading at an insane pace so far this year. So last year I read 52 books and that was my goal and so when I did my book journal I made 52 squares.

I did the same this year however I’ve already read 39 books so far this year which means I’m going to outstrip my target. The trouble is, I don’t know how to fit any extra books on my pages and I did my journal in such a way that the page after the one shown below is my next tracker page.

How can I resolve this? For this year specifically and what can I do for next year - I never know what I’ll read in any given year as it’s been as much as over 200 or as little as 10. It depends on my circumstances, the year, my mood etc.

Thank you for any help!

Crocheting in the round - a book sleeve and a huge mistake

Hello,

I humbly confess that I am an idiot. I’m making a book sleeve and I was crocheting around and doing the slip stitch into the first one, then I started amigurumi and I was like well why don’t I just stitch round without the slip stitch and I’ve only just realised I’ve got no way to finish it off and it’s lopsided.

Is there any way to resolve this without unravelling it all? I forgot that with amigurumi you decrease to end but with my book sleeve I need to obviously leave it as is.

I thought I was being so clever but actually I’m an idiot.

Please help!

**I’ve tagged it as a spoiler but there are no spoilers in my review**

This book was excellent. I usually finish a Gillian M book feeling like I enjoyed it but that it lacked a little something - like the idea was good but the execution was lacking, but Caller Unknown was brilliant. The idea was fantastic and the execution was amazing.

I loooove books set out in like the desert, and where better than Texas. Now obviously I’m never ever going to go to Texas or the desert because what if I get kidnapped but the setting was visceral and real and the starkness of the desert really added to the whole novel.

Going to a cabin / lodge with your daughter to then go camping should be a nice relaxing time, especially since you’ve been away from your daughter for a bit but for Simone it’s just the start of the nightmare and she wakes the second morning in Texas to find her daughter, Lucy, missing and from there, there is absolute bedlam. I wont quite share what happens obviously as I don’t wish to spoil it.

I thought this was excellent. The writing was tiptop, I loved the sense of urgency once Lucy was kidnapped and once it got past ‘part one’, it didn’t start lagging the way McAllister’s books sometimes do. This held me in thrall the whole way through and I couldn’t put it down.

I’d say it’s Gillian’s best novel to date 👏🏻
