Am I Overthinking This?

The first few days after I got my ring, I’d take it off whenever washing my hands. Then I read a few posts here and believed that keeping the ring on for this activity was fine.

When I got up yesterday, the light was off. I’m used to the green light constantly taking metrics. Since then, it’s either been the flashing green lights Ls and red and green lights, but defaults back to no lights.

All of my data has been uploaded and is current. Just for reference, I’ve had the ring for over a week. Is it possible that the lights initially flashed more the first few days so it could collect baseline data?

The Fireflies Aren’t Villains

If we argue they aren’t good either, they aren’t villains.

It’s easy to demonize everyone outside of Joel and Ellie and their family of two, however, I don’t think some truly grasp how difficult it is living in that world.

You have FEDRA, a corrupt as hell government entity.

Taking your chances in the wild.

Staying in your home and hoping it’s fortified well and that you can keep finding supplies.

WLF.

SERAPHITES.

RATTLERS.

Then you have small communities. Maybe you find something like Jackson or maybe you find that cannibal community.

You truly don’t know what you’re going to get.

And this is where you get the Fireflies. They existed to fight against FEDRA and the corruption that came with it. They were a resistance. But here’s the thing about resistances: you have to build them from the ground up.

And that’s incredibly difficult.

You need to a message that resonates, build numbers, able to maintain longevity, etc.

We aee FEDRA an iron rule. Short on ration cards. Curfews. Threatening civilians. Shooting civilians.

That wasn’t life.

Marlene later explains that they were targeted (killed) and FEDRA did bombings and blamed them, so people could turn against them.

I’m not saying they were perfect and never did messed, but what people label as “incompetence”, I see as people do their best in a harsh world where they are being targeted and resources are increasingly limited.

It’s easier to run a small community than a nation wide network where you have to avoid enemies with much stronger firepower. Where they aren’t your only enemies and there are much deadlier ones out there.

We see how devastating this virus is: whether you’re the one bitten or you’ve watched your loved one get bitten. It takes you in hours. And some people’s solution to that is to take themselves out of the equation as well (à la Sam and Henry).

How many parents lost their kids or kids lost their parents? How many people lost their partners/spouses?

How many communities were overrun by an infestation?

Yes, many parents would make the selfish decision all while wanting to benefit from said decision if the shoe was on the other foot.

The fireflies made a difficult decision in a devastating world and they’re seen as villains because we’re not the ones who had to made said decision.

Contenders, Pretenders, or Meanderers

Enough time has passed, based on this small sample size, who do we feel are contenders, pretenders, or meanderers (directionless, going nowhere).

This could be because of standing or regardless of, missing players, injuries, overachieving, chemistry still needs to work out, poor roster construction, washed players, stage of rebuilding, lack of identity.

I would love to hear your thoughts!

'Your Brokerage Account has x ready to invest'

Hello,

I'm a new investor and I have two different accounts. An investment account and a Roth IRA. I'm also doing a "challenge" where I invest I increasingly invest a dollar more than the previous week, so 1, 2, 3, etc.

Three different transfers automatically come out of my bank account each week.

Recently, I saw a notification that says my brokerage account has money that's ready to invest and I don't know what that means. I already thought the money was invested. Is this settled cash?

I'm going to go over more terms and whatnot for Fidelity; I'm just unsure if this is surplus money or something else?
