Let's not turn back the tides of hard one advocacy efforts

A very important change to our rights that every methadone client should be made aware of. Not only should be made aware of but the actual rule changes require that each and every clinic make it public knowledge for their clients.

Updated HIPAA laws requiring only one consent to reshare our information

From what I've been seeing and hearing so far most clinics have not notified their clients. The deadline to notify us was February 16th 2026. Please read the first announcement on this page and it will explain to you what the changes are and how they can re- disclose our records and perpetuity with only one consent from us. The records with whom the records were shared can also be reshared by those medical doctors and or practices. If you have any questions please respond here and I will be happy to explain it to you.

I'm also sharing a link to the Department of Health and it will tell you the changes.

The Law Has Been Changed Regarding Your Private Records

This change to how your person medical information is shared is VITAL to EVERYONE on Methadone.

Please read the chart I made in the next post to see how the changes stack up

The law states every clinic HAS to post these changes. Mine refuses and I am their advocate.

Drug Utilization Review Board -They are Watching People's Prescriptions

I wrote this for CT Medicaid but they are in all states and all health insurance providers. They are looking into you without your knowledge. The company I dealt with is in this article.

Given the serious nature of these claims, I immediately contacted Acentra Health for a comment However, I was informed that I could only communicate with them via U.S. mail. I called again and was able to speak with a receptionist. I specifically asked which pharmacies and physicians I was allegedly using inappropriately.

It was noted that the only other prescriber appearing in their system was a dentist who prescribed me Clindamycin for an infection—a completely routine and justified prescription. Otherwise, she confirmed that my medication history had remained unchanged for years. At that moment, it became clear: this review and accusation were not based on any improper use of prescription services but were instead a retaliatory action related to my prior authorization request. Key issues I would like addressed: Why is my case being reviewed in the first place? There have been no changes in my prescriptions, provider, or pharmacy that would justify this sudden scrutiny. Why was a baseless accusation made without investigation? A simple review of my records clearly contradicts the claim that I have used multiple doctors or pharmacies. Why was I denied the right to discuss this matter directly with Acentra Health? Being told that I can only communicate via mail is an unreasonable barrier to addressing false accusations. is this a pattern of behavior by Acentra Health? If prior authorization requests frequently lead to retaliatory actions against patients, this would indicate a systemic issue that requires regulatory intervention. This situation raises serious concerns about potential misconduct, patient harassment, and abuse of authority by Acentra Health. I expect a thorough review of my case, a written retraction of these false allegations, and an assurance that no further retaliatory actions will be taken against me. If this matter is not promptly and properly addressed, I will escalate my complaint to the HHS Office for Civil Rights, the Connecticut Department of Social Services, and the Connecticut Insurance Department for further investigation. I request a formal written response within 14 days confirming the steps Acentra Health will take to correct this matter. In the next issue we should have an update on the resolution to this situation.

If you or anyone you know has received a letter from Acentra Health that has accused you of wrongdoing please get in touch wtih me via e-mail at: ctmacechapter@gmail.com

The people posting that they are going to give you free money are scammers. Please don't let them convince you to send them a deposit.

Note these signs:

Q. Why can't you just post your Chime sign to get the money?

A. Because they want to ask you for a deposit or something else to try to get your money not give it.

Q. Have you ever seen anyone answer the post AFTER they've received the money?

A. No, because no one ever gets it.

Q. Why do they ask you to answer Chime and boost the post? Why don't they say post here as soon as you get the money?

A. Because no one ever has.

So what can we do to stop these people?

  1. When you reply DO NOT upvote their post, that's how they make their money.

  2. Ask them to post a screenshot of them paying someone and ask the other people on the thread to down vote the post

Last week I placed an order with a dinner delivery service, come to find out I was quoted and charged two different amounts. I contacted Chime and I was able to file a dispute virtually. I uploaded my proofs and in two days I was given the portion I was incorrectly charged for back.

A pleasant experience for something you don't want to have to do.

Thanks, Chime!
