No desire to save relationships. How do i fix this?

I feel like I have no desire to save friendships/relationships and whenevr something goes wrong I just dump my friend regardless of how close our friendship is. And the truth is, I've always felt happier after it.

For example, I recently got jealous of my best friend and everytime i saw him, i genuinely felt like an insect because of how much better he was than me. So i decided to tell him that and then never see him again. And i felt so happy and had 0 regrets.

Another time, i dumped a friend because i got feelings for her and she didnt. And again i felt so happy and had no regrets even though we've known each other for 2 years.

I just see no reason to save these friendships and even though I know i am in the wrong, i feel so happy (and powerful) for removing them from my life. I want to change this because idk what im missing on

Edit: i know i sound like a shit friend but I am actually a very good friend to most people. Which is why i find it even weirder why i feel nothing on losing them

How do i prepare for towns or cities?

Usually in my dnd adventures i put plot hooks and quests around the town like a merchant getting bullied by local thugs and all that.

These quests just dont really fit in a mythic knignt adventure.

So idk how i make my towns feel more alive

Best self help books for FOMO and comparison

FOMO: fear of missing out/ being left behind

So i've had a huge fomo since childhood. I have a very competitive mindset and I treat everything like a race (be it dating, finding work or even extremely mundane things)

This of course leads to jealousy, comparison, feeling left behind and i often find it very difficult to be happy for others' success. I've improved a lot but just wondering if theres any good books.

Give me your ideas for the myth: The Moon

I'm running my first game and just here to collect some ideas about the myths that I've rolled up.

Questions like what are those creatures of the night? Whats their purpose? How do i use the false superstitions? What is the vibe this myth is going for? etc

I will post this for other myths too that I am running

The Hydra Myth

Im about to run mb for the first time and i rolled up this myth. I wanna run randomly so i dont want to change it just yet. But i have no idea how to run it

It simply says that the hydra cant be harmed. So idk how the players would react other than just going 'welp we run away'. It just feels like a cutscene myth

Barrier examples

I can't think of many reasons for barriers to exist other than cliffs and ravines. What other things could form a barrier? I can think of poison swamps or animals attacking but I feel like thats a Hazard rather than a barrier

How do you even prepare for cursed scroll 6 (the city of masks)

The only thing that helped me prepare for hexcrawls is that the players can only go to adjacent hexes. So I prepare a few hexes near where the players are.

This is completely gone in CS6 since the players can go anywhere from anywhere. Surely you would not prepare all hexes in detail before even starting the game. Especially because most hex descriptions are just prompts rather than actual descriptions (like what is the Trial of 7 Pillars)

While I'm at it, is there a reason why the zine does not include statblocks?

how big are myths supposed to be a part of the game?

Is the game entirely supposed to focus on the myths? Should i prepare much for my holdings or dwellings then? (Like random side quests etc or random encounters) Or is everything else except for the myths unimportant.

I've heard that this game excels at emergent gameplay but the way I've been preparing has taken a lot of time (coming up with towns, shops, npcs and all)

Is 4 myths too much for a 6×9 realm

Im going to play my first adventure and i wanted to keep it short. My biggest fear is that i dont want hexes to feel empty.

Having said that, is 4 too many for a 6x9 realm?

Jori, Elder Inquisitor Appreciation

Just came across this boss and this might be one of my favorite bosses. I love bosses where you don't just have to 'git gud' (react to their moves) but rather come up with strategies like hiding behind graves, kiting the summons or punish that spam spirit move.

Probably my top 5 bosses in the dlc, if not top 3.

I must say that I was definitely overlevelled for this boss though at around 13 scadus. Tho i can't imagine anyone finding this shit on their own so i'd expect most people to accidentally overlevel.

Favorite simple pantheons that make the world flavorful

By simple, I mean around 20 pages maximum. I dont want to read 200+ pages for a pantheon.

It should also have multiple gods so I can create stories between them. So no 1 or 2 god pantheons.

Currently, the shadowdark pantheon achieves everything I want but I thought I'd post this just in case I find something better.

Balancing combat for 4 players

Im about to start my first mythic game and ive heard critiques about this game lack of guidelines for creating and balancing encounters.

I dont have any idea how id even start making my own monsters but thats not an issue for now because ive got 72 myths to go through

But ive also heard that this game is balanced for 3 players. How do i make it tough for 4?

When do i use sanity saves?

I've always ever defaulted to fear saves and its getting unfair for some characters since in multiple sessions ive only asked for like 1-2 sanity rolls in total and several fear rolls. When do i use sanity rolls?

What level is cursed scroll 4 hexcrawl meant for

I really wanna try the hexcrawl but ive had problems with shadowdark being too lethal in the past. Recently, however, i tried a dungeon by giving max HP to each player and 1 extra level and that felt more like my playstyle. What level is CS4 meant for?

What do you enjoy about 'playing' ttrpgs ( not dm-ing)

I'm a long time DM who has stopped enjoying being a player ever since I started dming. I used to enjoy playing it but now I cant even think of a single reason why I would be playing ttrpgs when I could be dming instead.

Any time Im a player now, I can't help but think about how I would dm this differently and nitpick stuff (i dont say it ofc. im not an asshole)

Combat systems that discourage doing the same thing every turn

(alternatively, combat systems that encourage doing different things)

I've been playing DnD for several years now but I've been noticing how 90% of our turns go the exact same. The combat can be still interesting but thats only because of me as a dm creating unique scenarios, not because of the player abilities. The rogue hiding and sneak attacking is the best thing to do in almost all cases.

What are some systems that discourage this so that the players actually have to think rather than going on auto pilot.

For me, combat absolutely takes away the immersion and the horror. When you give a statblock to a creature, take turns attacking each other and so on, it no longer remains a horror story. So i'm looking for oneshots with almost no combat.

Note: a monster thats not meant to be fought (but has a statlock) is completely acceptable. I loved ypsilon 14 even though technically it has a monster.

I'm going to run a oneshot for some people who are playing an rpg for the first time. Im confident in my abilities to explain the system to them. I'm just wondering which one to pick
