Any tips on how to get better at life studies without guidlines?
I’ve been trying to do life studies lately without using any guidlines but it’s starting to stress me out. Im afraid my art doesn’t look as structurally intact. Any tips?

Hey! I’m from queens and entering my senior year of Highschool, so I was wondering if anyone knew any affordable universities that offer a good animation BFA or at least program. I got a harsh reality check sometime last month that made me realize that I could never in a million years be able to afford SVA so now I’m looking for CUNYs/SUNYs that I actually will be able to afford that will still offer me a 3-4 year animation course!
(Looking for under 15k a year instate tuition)
Some photos I took back in May
This wasn’t our first conversation about the topic. I’ve actually been very out as transgender for the past 4 years, which has been a point of contingency between my mom and I. Every time someone calls me the right name or pronouns, she either tells them to stop or just leaves the scene. Its also worth mentioning that she’s pretty much the only one around the house who doesn’t accept me, my dad calls me a nickname of preferred name and uses masculine terms for me, my brother uses my pronouns correctly and around others, my sister uses my name and calls me by my pronouns, so it’s not like everyone else is also unaccepting.
I’ve been feeling really dysphoric as of late so I broke down infront of her today and when she asked what was wrong I told her the same story that I’ve told her all the time: i don’t like that people view me as a girl when I’m a guy, and then in response she started to break down. She told me that she’s drained and tired of hearing this, she’s not gonna fight me anymore on it, not everything is about me and why does it always have to be about what I want, that I know everything and she knows nothing and that’s always how I see it, and that she cant make me listen to her so “fine you’re my child and I’ll use they/them if that’s what you want, I’m done arguing about this”.
I honestly don’t know what to do. I don’t wanna make my mom upset about this but I also wanna be able to live my life as myself. For clarity I’m 16 and a pre T trans dude who binds regularly and really badly wants to start T. What do I do? Oh also I don’t use they/them and I’ve clearly stated that I don’t use they/them.
As the title says, I wanna know how to be a bit more sensitive of a person. I lost a few friends recently because I was being a dick to one of them and that backfired on me big time. For years I’ve always been open to critiques and tips on how to be a better person and friend but I’m really doubling down on that now and I wanna know how I can do my best to be better.
I will mention, I did admit fault, apologize and ask if we could talk about it from the get go which got immediately shut down (was told I’m a bad guy, never gonna change and they plan to jump me tomorrow) so I am looking for some more solid advice (also I feel like it’s worth mentioning I’m in Highschool)
Some of the things they brought up were:
- Making a joke about our rice purity scores being low
- Making a joke about their dad (who does not smoke weed) smoking weed
- Telling them to confront some people who were bullying them
- Not being great with apologies (over apologizing and under apologizing)
- Not being serious enough
- Repeating mistakes I’ve made in the past
- Distancing myself from them
What can I do to improve for the future, most of the people I’ve explained the full situation to say that it’s not that serious but I know it hurt them and I really wanna change!
Edit: I saw a lot of posts on here mentioning being neurodivergent, so I’ll also add that I have autism and adhd (combined type was my diagnosis for adhd)
