Need advice on coolant for my custom loop 👀

Hey everyone, my setup is almost finished and now I’m choosing the coolant for my custom loop.

I’m thinking about using an electric blue coolant because my case is white, and I think the contrast would look really clean. But before I buy anything, I wanted to ask for your recommendations first.

Which coolant would you personally recommend and why?
I care about:

  • good thermal performance
  • long-term reliability
  • minimal staining/clogging
  • nice visual look

Would you go with clear coolant + blue lighting, or an actual blue coolant?

Thanks in advance 🙏

Corsair 9000D + iCUE LINK hub question (RX120 fans, radiator setup)

Hi guys,

I’ve got a Corsair 9000D case coming with an iCUE LINK hub and I had a question about expanding the setup.

If I buy one additional iCUE LINK hub, will I be able to connect around 33x CORSAIR iCUE LINK RX120 fans in total?

My planned setup is:

  • 2x 360mm radiators
  • 2x 480mm radiators
  • Push/pull configuration on all rads

Just trying to figure out if:

  1. A second hub actually increases the total supported device count like that
  2. Or if there’s still a hard limit per system/controller that I should be aware of

Any advice from people running big iCUE LINK builds would be really appreciated.

Need Opinions on These 4 Radiators – Any Long-Term Issues with Sludge/Corrosion/leak?

Hello everyone,
I’d like to hear your opinions and experiences about these 4 radiators because while researching, I found some negative comments about a few of them. Some people mentioned that leak/dirt/sludge or corrosion can build up inside the rads over time, so now I’m a bit concerned.

My planned setup is:

  • 1x CORSAIR Hydro X Series XR7 360mm V2
  • 1x Alphacool NexXxoS X-Flow ST30 360mm
  • 2x Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis GTS 480

I’d really appreciate any long-term feedback regarding:

  • build quality
  • internal cleanliness/residue
  • corrosion issues
  • performance vs noise
  • maintenance experience

Thanks in advance!

Need advice on tubing for first custom loop

I’ve got a Corsair 9000D case with 2x 480mm radiators and 2x 360mm radiators, running Corsair iCUE fans and a custom water loop.

For my first setup, I want a clean showcase look where I can clearly see the coolant flowing inside the tubes.

I’ve already decided to go with soft tubing, but I need advice on which type is the clearest.

What would you recommend for the clearest possible soft tubing? PVC, PETG (if flexible options exist), or anything else?

My goals are:

  • Maximum clarity (see coolant clearly inside the tubes)
  • Clean aesthetic look
  • Beginner-friendly installation
  • Good long-term reliability (minimal clouding/yellowing if possible)

If you have experience with clear showcase builds, I’d really appreciate recommendations for specific brands or tubes that stay clear over time.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Anyone using Koolance QD3 quick disconnects in a full custom loop? (CPU + 4 radiators setup)

Hey everyone,

I just bought a full set of Koolance QD3 Quick Release fittings (male/female mix, ~10 pairs total) and I’m planning to integrate them into my custom loop.

My setup will be:

  • 4× 480mm radiators IN/OUT QD3
  • CPU block: EK-Quantum Velocity³  in/out QD3
  • Soft tubing: Alphacool EPDM Tube 13/10 Black
  • Fittings: Corsair Hydro X XF Compression Fittings (10/13mm G1/4”)
  • Full Corsair Hydro X ecosystem
  • Multiple QD3 quick disconnect points (radiators in/out + CPU in/out)

My goal is to make maintenance much easier by being able to disconnect radiators and CPU loop sections without draining everything.

But I’ve been reading mixed opinions online , some people say QD3s are rock solid, others say they can develop slow leaks over time or after repeated disconnect cycles.

So I wanted to ask people who actually use them:

  • Are Koolance QD3s reliable long-term in a full loop?
  • Any real experience with micro-leaks or seal wear?
  • Do you trust them enough for CPU loop connections?
  • Any maintenance tips or “don’t do this” advice?

Everything in my loop is G1/4” standard and high-quality brass fittings, so I’m hoping reliability won’t be an issue but I’d rather hear real user experience before I commit everything.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Corsair 9000D radiator layout advice – 5080 + 9950X build

Hey guys,

I’m planning a custom loop in a Corsair 9000D and I’m a bit stuck on radiator layout. Goal is to cool a next-gen GPU (5080 class) + Ryzen 9950X/9950X3D as efficiently as possible (mostly focused on low temps + low noise, not RGB or aesthetics first).

Case obviously has insane radiator support, but I’m unsure what’s actually optimal.

Right now I’m considering:

Plan A

  • 2x Corsair Hydro X XR7 480mm V2
  • Top + Front
  • Simple dual 480 setup, max surface area, straightforward loop

Plan B

  • 1x XR7 480mm V2 (Top)
  • 2x 480mm GTS (Front)

Basically mixing radiator types (thicker top rad + different front rads)

My questions:

  • Is Plan A already enough overkill for a 9950X + high-end GPU?
  • Does mixing radiator types (Plan actually help, or just complicate flow / loop balance?
  • Would you instead go:
    • push/pull on fewer radiators
    • or add a third 480mm somewhere (bottom / side mod?)
  • Any airflow layout tips for 9000D specifically (top exhaust vs front intake balance)?

I’ve seen builds with insane 4x 480 setups in this case, but I want something efficient, not just maxed out for flexing.

Would appreciate any real-world setups or lessons learned from people who built in the 9000D 👍

Thinking of selling my gaming PC in the UK and wanted a price check.

Specs:

• CPU: Intel i7-14700K
• Cooler: NZXT Kraken Elite 360
• Motherboard: MSI Z790 Gaming Pro WiFi
• RAM: Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 48GB (7200MHz)
• GPU: MSI RTX 4070 Ti Ventus 3X OC (12GB)
• Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB M.2 + 1TB Samsung 850 EVO M.2
• PSU: Cooler Master MWE Gold 1050W
• Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO
• Fans: 4x Corsair 140mm RGB (blue setup)

Condition: excellent, fully working, never mined on, mainly used for gaming.

Looking for a realistic valuation in the UK — what would you list it for, and what would you expect it to actually sell for?

I was thinking around £1,600–£1,800. Fair or too high?

Current setup:

  • 2x Corsair XR7 480 radiators (front + top)
  • Aqua Computer Ultitube D5 Next pump/res
  • EK-Quantum Velocity³  CPU block
  • Corsair 10/13mm soft tubing
  • Corsair Hydro X compression fittings
  • Koolance QD3 quick disconnects on both radiators
  • Drain valve + T fitting

Loop:
Pump Front Rad CPU Top Rad Pump

This is my first custom loop and I’m trying to understand real-world leak risk.

How reliable is 10/13 soft tubing with compression fittings long-term?
What are the most common leak points in a setup like this?
Anything in this setup that increases leak risk (QD3, drain valve, etc.)?

Would appreciate honest feedback from people running similar setups.

I’m planning a loop with 10/13mm soft tube and trying to figure out how well Leakshield handles it in real-world use. Most examples I’ve seen are with hard tubing, so I’m curious about soft tube compatibility.

A few questions:

  • Does Leakshield maintain pressure reliably with 10/13mm soft tube?
  • Any issues with tube collapse or deformation under vacuum?
  • Does tubing brand/material make a big difference (PVC, EPDM, etc.)?
  • Any setup tips or things to watch out for?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone running this setup. Thanks!

I’d like to see how people with custom loop setups (especially those using two radiators) have arranged their PC cases.

I’m planning a build and trying to get ideas for radiator placement, tubing routes, and overall case layout efficiency. If you’re running a dual-radiator custom loop, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your setup (photos would be awesome too).

Thanks in advance!
