madalas kasi dito sa reddit yung rags to riches. Yung mga it gets better na stories. Tia!

Hi! Is anyone working at DOLE here? What’s your role and what’s it like?

Out of all my law subjects, I feel my strength lies in Labor Law. I also like staying updated on current labor issues, such as the Pasig RTC issuing a TRO on the NCR wage hike. Given this interest, I see myself working at DOLE or the NLRC as a Labor Arbiter, Labor Arbitration Associate, or Conciliator-Mediator.

I’d love to know if anyone else here shares or has walked this path.

My most embarrassing moment in law school was doing my recitation while riding a jeepney

This happened to me last sem during one of our online sessions in crimlaw. This is just your usual law school subject, where the prof would randomly pick a name and grill the student for 30 minutes or more.

In that session, I thought na hindi na ako mabubunot kasi parang last 20 minutes na lang. So I went to my next class which is onsite while I’m still listening to my prof. But oh boy, I was wrong!

My prof extended the class! Sabi nya, “oh, may time pa tayo, I’ll pick another name.” And to my horror, ako yung na bunot! While nasa loob ako ng jeep!

He replied, oh why, diba nasa class pa tayo?” And he continued with the question.

Mga 20 minutes siguro yun pero it feels like forever.

Fast forward, I met my prof earlier today kasi enrollment season na namin. He’s not good with names pero he remembered me! He said, “Ms. ___, that recitation saved you from enrolling another crimlaw subject.”

Is this a typo in SC decision? (Gramatica v. PP)

Kasi Acts of Lasciviousness is Art. 336 not Art. 366. I’m confused. Is this a typo? Thank you.

Good eats and things to do in QC

Hi there!

I’m from Mindanao and I will be coming to QC this August for a conference. It will be my first time in QC.

What would be your recommendations for a first timer in QC, preferably near UPD?

Maraming salamat po.

I hate this dysfunctional family

I wish I had the family that other people seem to have.

The kind with parents who are married and genuinely love each other, not a mother who became a mistress and a father who chose to cheat.

The kind with a father who stays, provides, and takes care of his family, not one who started another family and left us struggling just to survive.

The kind with a mother who is wise, responsible, and knows how to build a better future for her children, not one who spends the little money I earn on things that don't matter while making one bad decision after another.

The kind with a brother who is respectful, hardworking, and willing to help, not one who shouts at me like I'm his enemy and refuses to take school or work seriously.

The kind with a safe and comfortable home, not one that has been neglected and left without electricity for months.

I'm tired.

I'm still a student, yet I work graveyard shifts just to keep us afloat. I sacrifice my sleep, my health, and my peace of mind because someone has to. Meanwhile, my mother and brother always seem to have another excuse for why they can't find work.

My mother spends her days looking for afams online. My brother dropped out of school and spends all day staring at his phone.

And somehow, everything always falls on me.

What hurts the most is knowing that while I'm doing everything I can to survive, the people who should be helping me carry the weight are adding more to it.

I never asked for a perfect family.

I just wanted a family that cared enough to try.

Because I'm so tired of carrying burdens that were never supposed to be mine.
