Hello everyone! I am new to the hobby and got a rtl sdr v3. It came with the sdr and an antenna package, i am trying to listen to my local dispatch using a trunked software but i cannot seem to find any signals.

I dont know enough about this so i did a little research with ai and it said it was likely due to the antenna, ive tried using the smaller antennas and put them to 3.7 inches and mount them where one was facing the ceiling and another the floor. This helped but it was still a very weak signal and nothing would come through the software. It still said idle even when i could see stuff being transmitted via openMHZ.

I am about 30 ish miles from the main dispatch tower. Is it possible to receive this with this antenna or any antenna?

Hello everyone, I've just gotten a rtl v3 for my birthday and I downloaded sdr++ and it's a beautiful interface. Ive been using a scanner until I got this, nothing insane just a handheld.

Can you scan with an sdr?

Can you do fire tone out?

What's the best software for these?

I've been trying to find haircuts for guys in the 2000s with curly hair, I have never been able to find any that really look 2000s.

Would it just be easier to straighten my hair? I have ring curls and my hair gets frizzy whenever it's hot out

Here's the Scenario

Friend 1 sends me a Snap - Notification appears normally.

Friend 2 sends me a Snap - Notification appears normally

Friend 3 sends me a Text Chat (not a snap) - The moment this happens, the notifications from Friend 1 and Friend 2 completely disappear from my status bar and notification bar.

If Friend 1 snaps me again after Friend 3 sent that chat, the new notifications will start stacking up normally again... until someone else sends another text chat, which wipes the slate clean all over again.

Samsung s25 ultra - One UI 8.5 - Snapchat is up to date

Additional Issue - Notifications don't stack/group like on my old iPhone. Is this an android issue too?
