Such much negativity around boomtown this year

I understand there was a lot of things that didn’t go right at boomtown but there’s no taking away that it wasn’t still a great year

The biggest one that irritates me is the people complaint about the “lack of dnb” there was more than enough dnb with some of the biggest names about wilkinson, sub focus, amc, KOTR, andy c, kelvin that’s just to name a few of them not to mention a bunch of others as someone who loves dnb myself I think there’s been plenty and boomtown has always been great for being a multi genre festival in fact the best is vibing to music you wouldn’t usually gravitate towards if you want strictly loads of dnb go forbidden, bass fest, or many of the other festivals out there

Costume advice

I’ve pretty much got my costume for saturday all together now just the last touches i’m going for a dune/wasteland kind of look the colours are brown for the bottoms then lighter colours for the top half so looking at getting some brown/black stuff to smear onto the clothes to give it more of that wasteland look if anyone’s got any suggestions of what to use would appreciate it

before anyone comments about the theme being 100 years on the future if it all went right I didn’t want to do that

What do uber drivers talk about on the phone ?

I’ve always wondered why uber drivers are on the phone all the time is it to make the night go quicker? do they talk to other uber drivers?

and if so what do they even talk about for so long sometimes they’re on call and then will go silent for ages then start talking again is it like a group call where people just join when they want?

As a brit I don’t understand the purpose in the mandatory tip for waiters, what are your thoughts on this over in the US?

Bit of background I keep seeing everywhere recently videos about people not tipping perhaps with the world cup going on over there right now, and saw a woman on tiktok the other day complaining about the fact she only got tipped 280 dollars 😭

However i’ve always seen tipping as a way to show appreciation for a waiter that goes above and beyond rather than a mandatory thing and shouldn’t be the job of the customers to pay the wages of the waiters when that should surely be the employers not to mention a lot of restaurants already have a service charge included in the bill

I understand it is the norm for people to tip over in the US but once again it should be the restaurant owners who make that change In sure myself and many more wouldn’t mind paying more a meal if it meant the workers were to get paid the right amount and still get the optional tip at the end of the service is deemed good

and then the last point is correct me if i’m wrong but in most restaurants isn’t the tip 20% of whatever the meal cost, which I also find absurd so if you was to eat a more expensive meal you’re expected to tip more say a meal came to 200 you’d be expected to tip 40 dollars

What’s an item that you consider an essential for a camping festival that you couldn’t go with out

Mainly looking at the more obscure items that most people wouldn’t usually take

What’s the wild gardens festival like in cornwall

Ive never heard of it before but saw the lineup looks really good and it’s super cheap compared to other festivals, only thing I did see that I was skeptical of is that they allow u18s in which could potentially affect the vibe of the festival
