Beginner friendly century ride
I just completed my first century ride in preparation for STP. If anyone's looking for a relatively easy route close to Seattle, I recommend giving this one a shot. It stays almost entirely on dedicated bike paths, and there are multiple rest stops and bail out options along the way. Note that at the time of writing, the southern half of the Lake Sammamish trail is closed, so that's why we had to do some weird doubling back on the BGT near ballard.
Here's the route in case anyone's interested: https://www.komoot.com/tour/3075327238?ref=aso&share_token=aiEok1k7UYe4iWguac59aC4ZGzsOaE8gRqYF5tyBpFnLcWdXac&t_s=referral&t_cid=route_share
Thoughts on off-brand water softening filters for Bianca?
I need to replace the in-tank water softening filter for my Bianca, and I see there's a bunch of off-brand options on Amazon. Intuitively, I don't see any reason why these wouldn't be just as effective as the OEM filter, should all be the same chemicals right?
I'm wondering if others have tried out the off-brand filters? Do you notice a difference in quality/effectiveness? Is there one in particular you recommend?
Can anyone help confirm if this scoring is correct? (Hong Kong mahjong)
I downloaded this app called TileBuddy, which is supposed to help you compute scores for Hong Kong style mahjong. From what I can tell, it doesn't seem to compute faan correctly. I thought that All Honors is a limit hand, so shouldn't the score be capped at 10 faan in this case?
Financial advice YouTuber explains the eye watering cost of car ownership. I can't think of a better exhibit for why we need viable alternatives to driving.
youtu.beAnyone know if the 520 bridge closure this weekend (5/8-5/11) affects the bike lane as well?
Title says it all
You can see in the second image how much damage was done to the insulation. Also hard to see, but there are metal tacks holding the insulation up that would easily puncture a bike tire.
