Inspired by the song, “…Blackout” from In The Heights the musical. The song has dual meaning - powerless literally due to a blackout, and powerless by symbolizing helplessness in the character’s lives.

Places That Hold Us [analog]
The song, “Sleep On The Floor” by The Lumineers, and the poem, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by Dylan Thomas are other pieces of art that conjure the same emotions I held to while creating this collage. It includes Queen Anne’s Lace flowers picked during a walk today (representative of the Queen Anne’s Lace I used to pick as a kid growing up and press into bookmarks…some things never change!).
