"A saucy little retard named Scout"
How did I miss this line the first time around? It's one of the funniest of the entire series. I fuckin love Creative, lying around, smoking pot, making fun of everything.
Stan: "....You?"

what I found on YouTube and even Phish.in was pretty rough. anyone have any better quality suggestions?
My wife is always running 5-10 minutes behind, so when we need to leave the house, I tell her, The time is near, the mission's clear, it's later than you think. She fuckin hates it. Good times.
I live in the foothills and have always been intrigued by this magical community at the base of magnolia — would love to know a little more about what it is like there. Seems like the community is very close knit. How is the noise from the canyon? Do you get any daylight in the winter being down at the bottom? Is there anywhere in the neighborhood to go hiking or walking, or do you just go up to Betasso?
a neighbor in the foothills near Switzerland Trail said her well had dried up. this was shocking to hear. if you’re in rural/foothills Boulder County, what’s the state of your well with this drought? are you worried it will dry up and what steps — if any — can you take to mitigate that?
The Phish are slaying it old-school in NYC this week, and I'm wondering if anyone around Boulder is hosting watch parties, either at homes, bars or other fun venues. Hit me up if you'd like to get something going or have space for one more. I live in the foothills and could host one night. This 90s run is particularly amazing, and it's always fun to share in the groove with other folks and commiserate about how we're not at the Garden having our faces melted right off.
Phish has touring dialed in by now, but I was blown away that they could wrap a show in North Carolina and play one the next goddam night in Maryland. How do they do it? Are there duplicate light and sound systems and separate crews that travel ahead? How is the band getting from point A to point B and actually sleeping and showering and having a few hours to be humans and recuperate while also doing checks? these dudes are soldiers but theyre in their 60s and — I assume? — could do with a decent night sleep and some way to stretch and work out and have a green juice in the morning.
I was on the lawn last night, and I think Contact was my personal fave from a truly joyful banger of a show. I know we’re in an “everything can jam” summer of riches, but that didn’t diminish the surprise and delight when they took that baby out for a walk. what a band, what a show, what a life.
In response to the guy who's bored with Phish jams now, I'd like to say that they still have the power to blow my mind wide open, and my favorite recent examples would be the Mondegreen Secret Set and Dark Puddle. If others have recent faves that left you fetal on the floor or stuffing your brains back into your ears, I'd love to hear 'em.
I've never understood why people say "he/him," "she/her" or "they/them" when providing their pronouns. It seems unnecessary to list two cases -- like, whose pronouns change depending on subjective vs. objective? Who is a "shey/them" or a "they/him"? And if we're listing cases, what about possessive? his, hers and theirs get left out of the conversation altogether.
Just saying, he, she or they is enough.
car was parked at the airport. left em a note on the windshield that said, YA MAR YA MAR YA MAR YA MAR YA NO GOOD PA.
i would love your personal perspectives and experience with how having children — or not — has increased or decreased your net worth and affected your fire goals and timeline. i am considering foregoing them for a lot of reasons, but $$ is high up there. or is my assumption a fallacy that kids cost you a lot of money?
at the end of Page’s solo, where Trey comes back in really fast playing what sound like 32nd or 64th notes, right before the lyrical guitar solo section. is there some term for what he‘s doing or explanation of how he’s making that sound? It’s one of my favorite parts of Lizards.
when I’m out running in the heat I’m genuinely torn between rock-hopping to avoid water at crossings and just plunging in. I love having cool feet, and the shoes and socks usually dry out within a couple hours.
but I want to know if getting the shoes soaked affects their support/cushion or shortens their life. anyone know?
sometimes I want a drink, and I’d like to go to AA meetings to try to deal with that urge. but I don’t really consider myself an alcoholic and haven’t drunk to excess since high school more than 25 years ago when I did drink too much and had to be stopped by my parents. still, that desire pops up sometimes. I had a glass of wine the other day and I now wonder if it was bc of my latent drinking problem.
would I be allowed into a meeting w this background? Do I have to talk and confess that I’m not that much of an alcoholic? Will they kick me out If I say all this?
A lot of the shirts I've seen at shows or other places are made of heavy cotton, and sized pretty large. Anyone have any links to T-shirts that use a much lighter cotton? similar to what American Apparel shirts used to be like, if anyone remembers.
I’m fairly torn and they seem really similar so I’d love to know what is tipping the scales for people between Bennet and Phil.
I’m still kind of saddened/baffled about how it just disintegrated. it was a Boulder institution — a vibrant studio for decades that had a huge and devoted community, and then Richard and Mary turned it over to one of their students, who seems to have just closed it down post Covid after hitting some landlord problems and peaced out. Like WTF. Did they just not feel any sense of community obligation? what happened and what became of that whole community? just….scattered?
