"This is spam" reports for non-spam will result in reports being ignored

Just a quick PSA, I can speak for myself but I imagine other mods may feel similarly: if you report something that's not actual spam, and that is related to earthquakes, and that you simply feel annoyed about seeing on this subreddit because it's personally not the kind of content you'd like to see, all you're going to obtain is that I hit "ignore reports" to avoid seeing such spam reports (as in, the reporsts being spam) in the future. That means I will no longer even see your report.

Please use the Report button responsibly, just like you should anything else!

Android May Soon Restrict On-Device ADB, Affecting Shizuku, libadb and Developers

This is a blog post.

TLDR: This is about a conversation in the Google Issue Tracker about potential future changes. Depending on how they are implemented, these changes could impact Shizuku and other power-user tools. More details and explanations are available in the blog post. 8-minute read. This is not an official announcement and nothing is 100% confirmed yet.

2026-07-26: Updated blog post with new section that address some valid claims I have seen by some users.

Informal poll on F-Droid client: do you prefer to update "all apps" or apply updates individually?

I am curious about this as we're having a discussion in relation with the next iteration of the F-Droid client. To be clear, to be best of my understanding, it will support both updating all apps with one tap, and updating apps individually.

However, it may not go to great lengths to make either choice extremely intuitive or support each user's workflow, if it turns out that a vast majority of users prefers the other choice.

So I would like to know if you'd prefer to be able to update apps individually, and if so, what are your reasons not to just update all of them at the same time?

If you'd prefer to update them all at the same time and see no need for individual updates in most cases, I want to hear about that, too.

Note that it will in any case be possible to ignore a specific update, or all updates for a given app (like it's possible in the current client).

Disappointed with Krups Sensation E910B, coming from Nespresso

I got this machine as a gift, it's not what I would have bought as it's very rigid in what it allows you to do:

  • 5 grinding settings, I hear even the finest is pretty coarse; I'm using it on 2 because 1 failed to grind for the right amount of time and ground for around 3 seconds instead of 10
  • 3 strength settings, so that's all you can set in terms of amount of beans to grind
  • 3 temperature settings that can only be set globally with a special key combo; I changed it to the lowest setting, as yesterday I measured 78°C in a cup heated using the steam wand's water after making a coffee at the default medium temperature

I'm using Illy Classic coffee, and the machine's manual warns against using any oily dark-roasted coffee, as it may ruin the machine with its non-removable brewing group (currently wondering if Illy "Intenso" would be bad, since I don't know what to do at this point aside from trying other beans, and I don't want to commit to 1kg of stuff plus shipping from a specialty coffee site yet).

Essentially, all three of us in the household prefer the Nespresso (original line) we were using before: I won't tell you how I drink my coffee as I'd get the peanut gallery, but well okay, I drink it very long and sweetened, and I liked Arpeggio which is 100% Arabica but I think a pretty dark roast; but someone else drinks "better" pods, unsweetened, in a sane espresso-type amount, and they also prefer the Nespresso. The coffee from the Krups feels maybe lighter, and initially I'd say it was closer to the coffee from our Moka pot (which I honestly don't like) than to the Nespresso. It does have crema, but it's less, less dark, and goes away faster.

Suggestions? My original assumption was that while a "cheap" superautomatic may not do an amazing job, it'd still be superior to pods, but at least for our tastes, this is not the case with this one. Is my assumption wrong, or it the machine wrong? I'm in Italy, not sure what would be easily-obtainable beans worth trying instead of this Illy Classic.

Not sure it's the beans, either, but again I don't know what more I could change in the machine itself.
