Scams that you have come across
So most of you might have come across an MLM scam or other scams. So please post down how people approached you, whether you got trapped or ignored it at first sight. We might know a few known ones, but let's put down all of them, so that we might get to know new ones if we aren't aware of them.
I have come across MLM scams, that too in my PUC 1 (11th STD). My school senior introduced me to this eBiz. For the first time, I didn't even have an idea such a thing existed, but the way they portrayed Lamborghini cars, Dubai trips, this and that, people would really fall for it. But I just said ok ok in front of them and ran away from there. After a few years, a friend called me after years and talked nicely, and with that convo itself, you can judge where this is gonna go. Stopped him there. And then there are unknown people from LinkedIn who come, text you, and GMeet, same shit. So tired, but now people are a bit aware because of the awareness. Before 10 years, there wasn't that awareness that there is now. You know what, even I went to play badminton in Bangalore, you connect with new people and they take your number, tend to call you and ask about your whereabouts, and when they keep on speaking goody-goody, you can suspect where they want to get to. I’m tired of this, man, literally.
You know what, before 3 years, I used to trade in the stock market in options. Then, in my father's friend circle, there is this guy who was asking people to invest in Bitcoin. He came to me and said the same. I asked which coin exactly. He said GDC coin. I was like, where is this even from? He said it was not even launched yet, but yeah, people can invest now. When it gets listed, people can withdraw their profits. I was like, bro, felt sus. After a year, I saw the chart of this coin he showed. MF, some people had built their own chart, and it didn't even move much. After a few days, people got cheated by them, and the GDC company eloped. This was a big scam in Maharashtra. A lot of people lost money there.
For all these MLM scams, a few things are common. You need to pay first. Next, get people in to pay; by that, you get a commission because that's the only way you are going to make your lost money back. MF conducts events in halls like celebrities and dresses up in coat suits, gives gifts like cars and whatnot. And the people who get trapped at times don't even realise they are doing wrong by getting others in and still support that what they are doing is right n bla bla about the company.
That's why Sathuranga vettai is one of my favourite movie and it's an eye opener.
Until people are ready to get fooled, there will always be people ready to fool them.
So yeah, go ahead, people. Comment the ones you came across.
