Some photos of ryonggyang hot spring house , it was originally built exclusively for high-ranking North Korean officials, but it is one of the few elite zones that now selectively opens its gates to approved foreign tour groups.
The Ryonggang Hot Spring House opened to Western foreign tourists in the late 1990s.
The site shifted from a heavily guarded, top-secret government retreat to a commercial tourist destination as part of a state strategy to bring in hard foreign currency:
Following the severe economic crises and famine of the 1990s, the North Korean regime desperately needed foreign revenue. To achieve this, the state travel bureau began quietly modifying select elite compounds to host wealthy international visitors.
Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, the complex became a staple stop for Western tour agencies like KTG® Tours and Koryo Tours. Tourists were bused here from Pyongyang to stay in the original villas and try the famous gasoline clam barbecue.
Along with the rest of North Korea, the Ryonggang complex shut down completely in early 2020 due to strict pandemic border closures. As of 2026, the country remains tightly closed to general international tourism, barring limited, highly controlled tour groups from Russia.

Private indoor pool complex of ryongsong residence(#55)
These pyramids are the glass roofs of a large private indoor swimming facility for the Kim family living in the Ryongsong compound. The complex features a large bar area next to several pools and relaxation areas. The main pool is a large wave pool that stretches from one pyramid to the other, and ends in a large false beach in the easternmost pyramid, flanked by a children's pool, foliage and sun chairs. Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung was filmed inspecting the newly erected structure and walking around the pool immediately after the construction of the Ryongsong complex. A photo depicting Kim Jong-nam and Lee Nam-ok relaxing in the wavepool at night is also taken in this building.

So i spotted changkwangsan residence , it's not that visible , just wanted to share my observation , I was looking for photos which tourist take from rooms and trying to spot changkwangsan residence and i found it
So 1st image is a satellite view of both changkwangsan residence and koryo hotel
⁸2nd image is to show you surrounded buildings outside of compound (so you could match), big building inside forest(same building labeled) and a small view of guest house
3rd image is another satellite map but with zoom version (also marked roof structure with cyan color to match)
4th image is showing that same building with 3 guesthouses
5th image is showing that same big building with likely main building ( cuz that building is behind of that big building)

So i saw a vlog of youtuber, he went in April 2025 and he unintentionally took video of kim residences from tower of Juche Idea in Pyongyang
I think i spot kim residence , so correct me if I'm wrong
Although ChangKwang residence isn't much visible but it is at that location i think
