Weird, possibly dumb question about Suki. (Spoilers for seasons 2 and 3)

So, after Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee impersonate the Kyoshi Warriors, the real warriors are captured, and Suki explains in The Boiling Rock that she was singled out as the leader. My question is: why is she the leader?

Suki is 15-16 years old in the main show. Why would the Kyoshi warriors pick a literal teenager as their leader (no matter how good a fighter she is) when they could have someone in her 20s or 30s with more experience? If this has a dumb and obvious answer, I’m sorry.

One of my new favorite details I noticed upon rewatch! Spoilers for season 5 (even if it’s been out for years…)

In Blue Diamond’s extraction chamber, the entrance and draining system both hold the era one version of the diamond symbol, containing Pink, White, Blue, and Yellow, while in Yellow’s, the era two symbol is brandished, with only White, Yellow, and Blue. I just really liked that since it’s really clear Blue overshares her emotions while Yellow 100% represses hers. I mean, YD’s chamber is basically a home office while BD’s is just a relaxing space.

It’s the first of June! Happy pride! It’s this year, 2026 that I learned more about the ace spectrum and began defining myself as Aroace, and I’m quite happy with figuring that part of myself out! I find myself quite excited for Pride Month this year :)
