Descendants of known Sayiids

I was able to find a deed document dated 1883 from my family who lists our grandfathers going back 13 grandfathers from that time to where he lived between 1400-1500 in our village in Yemen.

His last name (and mine) are Al-Rifai and we are known sayiids in the area, at least that’s what I’ve been told.
The grandfather who lived in 1400-1500 is named Salih Alrifai and owned many lands in the village apparently.

I’m trying to figure out exactly where we came from and more importantly if we are genetically sayiid or if the Rifai Tariqa (suffi influence) is how we got our last name.

My research has led me to Ahmed Albaz (son of Sayid Izz Aldeen Ahmed Alsayyad who left Iraq and toured Yemen) who seemed to be alive late 1200’s

Is this research a bust? I’ve been stuck here for a while.

Has anyone ever successfully tracked this kind of info recently when the descendants (supposedly) ended up far from home, like Yemen.

Yemeni Grandfather in Ethiopia

I’m looking for anyone who knows Yemeni people that lived or worked in Ethiopia sometime between 1900-1950

I realize they are probably long gone by now but maybe their children or grandchildren can help me answer some questions about my grandfather who lived and worked there during that time.
Any knowledge or guide in this topic would be appreciated.

أحمد صالح الظاهري Ahmed Saleh Althahiri

I’m trying to locate information on my grandfather (Yemeni) who worked and lived in Ethiopia between 1900-1960
I found an article that mentions this Yemeni prominent businessman by the name Ahmed Saleh Althahiri in AdisAbaba that organized crews of Yemenis to work as seamen.
The article listed his grandson as a source and says the family has more records of that time period.
If anyone is able to help me locate that family to contact them it would be greatly appreciated.

Another thing I should mention is another article where a researcher finds a lot of records of Yemeni immigrants in “Dessie”
I called municipality of Dessie but the person who answered did not understand what I am looking for.

90 year old diabetic with severe leg pain

My mother in law is 85-90 years old living in a 3rd world country.
She’s a diabetic and also has low/high blood pressure.

She’s been getting severe leg pain for several years and doctors there give her nothing because they said it can interfere with her medications for the health issues above.
She can walk well enough and I was wondering if it’s worth it to get her to another country to see if there’s any medication for her leg pain. It’s really bad where she can’t sleep but I know she’s very old so I’m not sure if there’s anything else out there.
Any advice would be appreciated.
