[Online] [Other] Horror social deduction group roleplay game

Hi everyone! It's my first time posting on this Subreddit, so apologies if this isn't the right one!

I and a bunch of friends are looking to play a social deduction game, but we are a few players short. The game has a heavy roleplay focus: at the beginning of the game, the players choose from a set cast of characters and play through the game while roleplaying as said character.

The game is a long-form, story-driven deduction game inspired by games such as Mafia and Town of Salem, narrative experiences like Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, and tabletop RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons.
If you are familiar with choice-based narrative games like Until Dawn, you're going to have a blast, as each season draws heavy inspiration from them

The game does not take place in sessions, but rather just as a thing the players can hop on and off whenever they are not busy to talk with the rest of the cast. The game is entirely text-based.

Be aware that the game does include perma-death. If your character dies, you will be unable to keep playing until the end of the season.

For further information and an invite, please hit me up in the comments or DMs! :)

Supermassive Games

Supermassive Games is probably the only company besides Quantic Dream (who have not released a game in ages) that makes your choices actually matter.

If the recent events regarding more layoffs will result in the company shutting down, I will genuinely be distraught.

Never have choices really mattered quite like in Supermassive Games, and I think that’s something that should be talked about a bit more than it is.

Their games don’t lie to you at the start like the Life is Strange games, Telltale Games, or Dispatch that all only change in the way they conclude (for the most part). Despite their other flaws, they genuinely deliver on their premise unlike most beasts in the choice-based game industry. Scenes significantly change all the way throughout the games rather than just in the way they end.

That’s something a lot of people don’t give these games enough credit for in my eyes. The sheer amount and variety of scenes and consequences they have to offer.

Thank you, Supermassive. For genuinely making our choices matter.

It should've been Kristi

It would have had more emotional impact and would actually give Mari's character something more decent to work with
Her and Kenny could go through their shared loss together

Mari was barely relevant to the story - I didn't feel sad when she died because she'd left no impression on me whatsoever
Also what's the point of Bakta? Her character is probably the most pointless

D8020 felt a bit lackluster due to what it was marketed as

Their main promotional material for this game was the shapeshifting Among Us aspect, yet it wasn’t the main part of what the game had to offer.
It has about three scenes (Williams choice, scanner choice, Anders cavern) where it’s actually utilized, and that makes it end up feeling like a let down due to the amount of which the aspect was used to promote the game in actuality.

Here’s hopes the next game(s) don’t do the same and don’t overhype another niche aspect of the game. 👍
(The Casting of Frank Stone had the same problem in my opinion actually)

Along with reducing the amount of stealth in favor of the more regular QTE scenes/chases/choices - please.
