Got harassed by street dogs!!!! Lady feeding them vanished without a trace.

I still can't believe how humans can stoop so low. I can't believe there are human beings out there who doesn't have any drop of concern for others. Came out for a random walk here in Indiranagar. Lady feeding stray dogs and petting and kissing them. Suddenly they start barking and chasing me. Chased me for a couple of minutes. Thank goodness they didn't bite. Two sweet kids lifted me up. When I turned around, that lady has vanished without a trace. How? Why? Why do people feed such aggressive creatures and then let others suffer? I'm all for welfare of animals but it shouldn't come at the expense of peace of mind. Bengaluru's dog culture is insane. People may be massacred but there will be people out there defending these dogs.

I'd be like to be considerate here. If anyone lives around here, is this lady mentally disabled? She looked like in her early 20s. If she is, then I can forgive her. This is insane. How can one ignore human beings in distress? Laywrrs out here, is there any way I can proceed legally? There must be some sort of CC TV footage here.

Opinion : Korean pop music is probably the only industry which glamorises Transit while we have the US on the other side which does the complete opposite.

I have just recently stumbled upon Kpop so imagine my surprise when so many videos have stars actually using public transit or glamorising them too. Take the second pic for example - Anywhere around the world, a vanity van would have been the setting but they have used a subway car here. Kinda making the point that subways can and will always be way more efficient than cars( I'm sure they don't mean to preach). Also gives out a message that puclic transit is not only for the poor but it can be for everyone if planned and executed right. Also, this gives us an insight into the culture here. South Korea despite having a very powerful auto lobby, has really good transit in Seoul, their largest city. Kinda makes a point that a city can built for both cars and people ( However people should be given the higher priority). Not too late for US cities to plan along the same lines. I know I am reading between the lines here but give this transit fan a break😅.

Edit: Forgive me guys!! Wasn't aware of so many other countries having the same thing as well. Please provide your transit related music recs for everyone in this sub to enjoy!!

Will we finally see a new TOD prioritised India?

I do not mean to be overly optimistic when it comes to such news cause we know the beuraucratic failures in India. However, since the PM himself came out suggesting to use the metro, will we finally see the following changes happen?

  1. Shaded proper walkable footpaths

  2. Fastracked metro projects.

  3. Decongesting Tier 1 cities by fastracking metro projects in potential Tier 2 cities like Mangaluru even if population is below 2 Million.

  4. Comprehensive master plans for cities on how to build infra for the next 20 years where Transit takes priority. Build transit first and then develop the areas. It's easier for people to start using transit from Day 1 than waiting for them to switch after they are used to private vehicles.

  5. All tier 2 cities should switch to AC EV buses by 2030. Again, makes people to switch if they can travel comfortably in Humid India. The operating costs will probably remain the same as a Diesel Non AC bus and we'll save on Forex reserves.

  6. Prevent Private transport providers from ruining the system. Where I live, they have formed a mafia of sorts - Deciding where buses should go to, Preventing Government buses to be deployed in high footfall areaa, Running 50 year old buses, driving recklessly to make time etc. Strict regulation or they should leave the business. If it was me, Nobody should be in the business of public transit. Nobody wins.

These are just my thoughts. Prolonged increase in fuel prices could instill massive change. This is what happened during the oil crisis in the 70s in Europe and look where they are. I hope people can rise to the occasion as well.

Interview tips for SAP Functional Consultant at PwC.

Hello CAs in Functional Consultant roles. Asking for a friend who has recently qualified who has got an interview call. He is interested in this domain however don't know know what to prepare. The JD says the role is for TRM AND FI Modules. Do the interviewers expect us to know technical stuff related to SAP or will it be mostly about Internal Controls and Processes? Kindly advise.

So for context, I'm from Bengaluru and this trip has been in the works for ages now. I had an amazing time in your beautiful city even though it was hot af but this was the only time where our schedules matched (Blame adulting).

What I loved:

  1. Food : We made sure no expenses were spared when it came to food. Bavarchi, Shadab etc. You guys have very high standards when it comes to food and it shows in the numerous amazing restaurants and cafes we went to. I guess we have to thank the earlier rulers who instilled in the art of food and how to please people.

  2. Architecture and History: This was gold to me. How can one city have so many wonders? The intricate and delicate architecture had me impressed. Made me wonder on how much efforts were out into making sure buildings are built in an elegant way.

  3. Infra- Coming from Bengaluru, the infra had me impressed as well however there is work to be done. Infra was way better than Bengaluru for sure. The roads looked well planned to me and I think Hyderabad has the potential to have the best skylines out of all Indian cities in a decade. Imagine my surprise when I laid my eyes on the City police building in Banjara Hills. I mean which city has a police building like this? ( please provide tea on why the police is so well funded).

What I didn't love:

  1. Public transport - I may run out of words to describe how awful the public transport network in Hyderabad is. 50 year old buses plying around with poor frequency. I barely saw any bus stations around Hitech city. It's like they don't want people to see old buses around such a futuristic area. It's like the city was built for cars. We had to almost always depend on Rapido Autos and surge pricing was always a problem. Being a public transit aficionado, this aspect was very disappointing. I never used the metro!!!! Shows how poor the connectivity is in the city. And I was disappointed to know there's zero construction ongoing as well. Which means it will take a lot of years to have a good connectivity within the city. Bengaluru has always been good to me in this regard. Most of the buses are EVs and AC as well. Frequency is excellent in all IT corridors. Mulitple metro lines are under construction. Perhaps Hyderabad can take a leaf out of Bengaluru's book.

  2. Walkability- Another disappointment. Hitech city has all these wide footpaths for what? One can barely cross the wide ass road withiut facing severe consequences. How did anyone approve this design without accounting for pedestrian crossings? We could barely walk to Niloufer cafe even though it was just a kilometre away. Car centric Hyderabad will definitely set the city years back. Prepare to be the next traffic hotspot lol. I hope this issue is solved for a better quality of life.

To conclude, I am optimistic in the way India is moving forward. I hope we get to see a beautiful city which has lived up to its potential in our lifetime.
