For everyone who hates LHB coaches finishing and complains about outer surface looking dented.

The third generation for NJ Transit (new jersey USA) bilevel trains by Alstom for commuter trains made in 2026. These are called Alstom Multilevel III. Just notice the finishing. Its pretty standard with stainless steel coaches to have this finish. They are capable of 200kmph.

The finishing is similar to ICF LHB coaches made in India.

Is there anyone in this subreddit who is not born in Mithila but is from that ethnicity?

For context, I’m 27M. Dad is from Madhubani, Mom is from Jharkhand but ethnically Bhagalpur. I didn’t visit Bihar much due to the law and order issue, but I used to visit Jharkhand. I never stayed in the state, and my parents never taught me Maithili. I used to live in Delhi, then moved abroad, and currently live there.

But I still, from time to time, think about the region, and due to my ethnicity, I always feel tied to it and cherish it. Is there anyone else like me who never lived in the state but still feels connected? Would love to hear your stories too.
Edit-1:- Law and order issue mentioned here is for till 2006

How is the job market for Data Analyst/Scientists/Engineers in Toronto at the moment? Please answer in detail on your answer.

So the question is pretty much what the title says but, please dont just say its bad. I wanna understand why its good/bad. I have been finding it difficult to find a job and I wanna know how others have been doing and whether there was something specific that helped them land a job or how did they recourse to find a source of income.

Edit 1: I get the AI thing but the jobs I m talking about cannot just be bluntly replaced by AI. There are job posts in the market for those jobs. I m trying to also understand if they are there just for sake of it or are people actually getting hired?

As a North Indian I dont understand this contrast between Hindutva and Dravidianism

For context, I want to clear something up. I am not a legacy BJP supporter or a Hindutva propagator. But I do have an inclination toward BJP simply because, from my experience, I have seen them get infrastructure projects done — i.e., they deliver on their promises. (This is my personal experience; you may very well have something contrasting.)

However, I also realized that openly expressing my support in social circles makes people see me as a “fascism supporter” because many consider BJP and its parent-affiliated organization, the RSS, to be fascist due to their ideology of Hindutva being seen as anti-muslim. So I decided to read more about it, because I personally would not want to be associated with something like that. And that is where my question comes from:

In my naive understanding, Dravidianism and Periyarism both put forward the idea that the caste system promoted by the brahmanical system and brahmanical system as a whole should be destroyed, that there should be no caste inequality, and that socially backward classes should be treated equally. But this is also exactly what RSS’s view of Hindutva claims. They (including, surprisingly, Savarkar) have said that the caste system weakens society and Hindu identity, and therefore should be eradicated, which sounds similar to what Dravidianism and Periyarism advocate. So why is there such a conflict between them?

Further, Sanatan is not Hindutva; it is the traditional term for Hinduism, just like saying Christians and Believers. The part I do not agree with the right-wing followers is their anti-Muslim rhetoric, because I firmly believe that Muslims who live in this country have every right to do so, and the Constitution gives them that right and no one can take it away from them.

I think this anti-Muslim rhetoric is what makes people term them fascist. But if anti-Muslim rhetoric from right-wing followers is considered fascist, then DMK and Udhayanidhi Stalin saying they will eradicate Sanatan Dharma should also be considered equally fascist.

I have also read the argument from the other side that, by “eradicating Sanatan Dharma,” they actually mean eradicating Hindutva and its casteism. But Hindutva itself presents itself as an anti-caste ideology, which essentially sounds similar to Dravidianism at its core. Hence, opposing BJP on that basis alone does not fully make sense to me either.

I understand that there is one major difference between the two anti-caste approaches: Periyarism and Dravidianism argue that caste is a deeply rooted hierarchy within Hinduism and cannot truly be removed without removing Hinduism itself from society, whereas Hindutva argues that Hinduism/Sanatan can exist without the caste system.

But if both sides fundamentally want to eradicate the caste system, why do they not clearly put that forward and preach that directly? And why does the RSS still get perceived as a pro-caste organization in South India and particularly Tamil Nadu? I m kinda confused about this whole thing.

Edit-1:
Not a single reply so far on if both Hindutva and Dravidianism is against caste system then why are they not clearly coming forward and acknowledging it?

If someone wants to talk about this and explain me please do. I wanna know. And I say this genuinely and not as a challenge.
