idk, new to this sub

Hi. So in sharon verma's words, I'm an NRB xD (born and brought up in Rajasthan btw). Though I've been speaking maithili for as long as i can remember, thanks to the culture at home. Have visited my village quite a lot since childhood so I'm pretty familiar with almost all aspects of our culture, like the customary rituals, slangs, the village accent, and stuff like that.

Anyway. How old is this sub exactly? Was a bit disappointed cuz unlike other language subs i couldn't find much activity here. In fact i came across this sub yesterday only after it randomly crossed my mind that there might be a sub for us maithili speaking people exclusively.

Mates, what’s your plan for tomorrow?

Weekend is here, are you going out, gaming, working, or just staying in and doing absolutely nothing?

How much would it cost to build a house like this in 2026?

Hello everyone,

I would like to know the total estimated cost to construct a spacious, decent, 6 bedroom, 2 story house today, using similar materials to the original, in Madhubani. I am quite young right now but would like to invest in building this. How much acre is needed for this? The picture in reference is an example of colonial architecture of 1900.

Aahan sabb kani idea diau🙏🏻

Is there anyone in this subreddit who is not born in Mithila but is from that ethnicity?

For context, I’m 27M. Dad is from Madhubani, Mom is from Jharkhand but ethnically Bhagalpur. I didn’t visit Bihar much due to the law and order issue, but I used to visit Jharkhand. I never stayed in the state, and my parents never taught me Maithili. I used to live in Delhi, then moved abroad, and currently live there.

But I still, from time to time, think about the region, and due to my ethnicity, I always feel tied to it and cherish it. Is there anyone else like me who never lived in the state but still feels connected? Would love to hear your stories too.
Edit-1:- Law and order issue mentioned here is for till 2006
