Your biggest OOPS moments

we’ve all been there because we’re human. What were some of your biggest mistakes you’ve made? For example, in my 27 years in the industry I have:

  1. booked an appointment without writing down the name of the person I was meeting with. It was awkward but worked out in the end.

  2. rated something based on $75k in revenues when their actual revenue was $7.5 million (I honored my quote and they were very happy until renewal)

  3. used some inappropriate words without realizing I was on a speaker phone. luckily everyone thought it was funny.

I could go on…

Daughter heading off to college

in one week, my first born baby girl (who will soon be 19) will be heading off to college. seems like just yesterday I was holding her for the first time, absolutely having my mind blown that I was a dad. Then she became that little girl who couldn’t wait for me to come home from work so we could “pway dollhouse.” Then—BAM! Teenager! High School! Graduation?!? COLLEGE?!?!?

I’m having a rough time. Yesterday she had a friend over and they said their goodbyes afterwards and it choked me up. I can only imagine what it’s going to be like dropping her off. my wife seems to be handling this better than I am, but she’s the strong one.

I’m proud as hell of this kid, and also proud that we’re able to send her to college. I know this is all part of life, but still…what a kick in the nuts.

anyway, thanks for reading. hug your kids tight.

Blue Moon NA

had some at the beach. pretty damn good, actually. Nice subtle hint of orange flavor to it. I’d definitely buy it again, especially for a hot day.

Lonesome Dove: The Series

I just finished Bret Hart’s book and he mentioned being in the Lonesome Dove series. apparently it only ran for one season. anyone remember it?

What’s Something you loved “back in the day” you can’t tolerate now?

for me: roller coasters. loved them as a kid and into my 20’s. now they beat the hell out of my old ass.

Also fireworks. loved setting them off to the point I have hearing loss. Now I can’t fathom spending money on something I’m just going to burn. Also, who the FUCK is setting fireworks off at 10 pm? PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!

How to stop him from rolling in the mulch???

title pretty much sums it up. wife and I just put down a ton of beautiful, fragrant, fresh black mulch, and every day since (Saturday) my 17 lb idiot (but insanely lovable) shorkie has decided to roll in it. I count my blessings that we didn’t put down cow manure, but how do we get him to stop? will he eventually quit once the smell dies down?

here one from Webster: “and I’m proud…and that’s cool..to go to Travis Long Elementary School“. I didn’t even really like that fucking show but that line has been burned into my brain for 40+ years now. someone make it stop

on his earlier albums, his voice is more “clear-sounding” than his later albums, where he sounds more gravelly. I personally lov both, but I was wondering if he intentionally changed his voice as he got older?
