An emotion that's impossible to hide.

Now ladies, listen. 😂 I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but there's one emotion that sometimes makes me feel incredibly vulnerable and awkward: pleasure. Yes, you heard me right. 😂

My pleasure face is SO awkward that half the time I don't even want the person I'm with to see it fully. 😂 It's just one of those things I can't really control, and knowing that my face is basically exposing exactly how I'm feeling makes me feel even more vulnerable.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? Because I've never really thought about it before, but I've realized my "pleasure face" might genuinely be the most awkward expression I make. 😂

Strict women

For those of you who’ve become more strict with yourselves over the years, what are some things you do now that your younger self would’ve found unnecessary?

I'll go first:

  1. I never ask for something more than once

When I was younger, I’d repeatedly ask for things like consistency, inclusion, reassurance, etc. Nowadays, if I have to keep asking for the same thing, I take that as my answer. Asking more than once starts feeling too close to begging, and I’m not doing that.

  1. I genuinely don’t care about people’s perception of me anymore.

You think I’m mean? Cool. You think I’m too straightforward? Sawa. They said I’m self-centred? Fine 👍🏽. I honestly couldn’t care less about how I’m perceived anymore. When I was younger, I used to spend so much energy worrying about what people thought of me.

  1. I don’t mind-read anymore.

If I made you feel some type of way, come straight to me and tell me. I’m not going to sit there analysing your tone, assuming you’re mad at me, and then beating myself up over something you haven’t even communicated. You’re a grown adult. Communicate with me and we’ll deal with it.

  1. I don’t people-please.

When I was younger, I wanted to be seen as the “perfect girl” so badly that I’d walk on eggshells just to avoid making someone upset with me. Nowadays, if you’re constantly making me uncomfortable or I have to shrink myself to keep you happy, I’ll simply step away.

  1. I will leave.

If a friendship becomes consistently toxic, I’ll leave. Someone starts treating me differently or behaving funny towards me? I’m leaving. You constantly trauma-dump on me without considering whether I have the capacity for it? I’ll distance myself. A guy friend starts becoming overly sexual? Outt. 😂

I used to stay in situations way longer than I should have because I felt like I had to fix things or give people endless chances. Learning that I’m allowed to simply leave has saved me from so much unnecessary emotional distress.

  1. I’ve completely decentered men.

When I was younger, I cared way too much about men and how they perceived me. Nowadays? I genuinely couldn’t give a fuck whether a man looks my way or not. 😂 I don’t care about impressing them, getting their attention or hearing their opinions about me.

The moment a man opens his dirty mouth and starts saying some nonsense, I’m already mentally three streets away.

  1. I value my time a lot more.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that time is one of the most valuable things you can give someone. I don’t play about mine anymore. If we’re going on a date and you’re more than 30 minutes late without a genuinely sensible explanation, that’s probably the last time you’ll see me. I won’t intentionally make you wait for me, so I expect the same consideration in return.

  1. I’m much stricter about what I put into my body.

I’m more conscious about what I eat and drink now. When I was younger, I didn’t think twice about what I was consuming as long as it tasted good. 😂 Now I actually think about how something is going to make me feel afterwards.

  1. I don’t party the way I used to.

I used to be such a partyholic. I’d smoke pot, drink myself silly and stay out for hours. That lifestyle just doesn't appeal to me anymore, and honestly, I don't see myself going back to it.

  1. My relationship with God.

When I was younger, I wasn’t really serious about getting to know God or having an actual relationship with Him. Now, my relationship with God is something I’m much more intentional about, and I take it a lot more seriously.

Those are mine. I’d genuinely love to hear yours too :)

For the men.

Maybe if I ask directly and not keep assuming I'd get to know the reason. Why do most of you out here feel so entitled to touch or talk rudely to a lady you don't know especially in public? One, if you talk to a lady and they don't respond, you abuse of insult them. I think if it gets to to a point where you'd call a lady names for that is honestly unnecessary and stupid.

And two, what is it with some men and touching women inappropriately in public spaces? Why don't you touch your fellow men(strangers) in public for crying out loud? It's hella disrespectful, 'cause one, you don't know the person and they don't know you, and that just begs the question, shida hukuwa gani exactly?

So why I'm asking this is that I had gone to town today in the afternoon and when i was coming down the stairs from a mall to buy some stuff from one of the shops, I met some 3 tall black guys . As I approached the corner so that I could go down the stairs, they start cat calling me and trying to touch me and telling each other how they "do things" to me you know what I mean and talmbout "size yangu" it was really really annoying but I couldn't fight them off. I was afraid if I tried fighting them off, anything would have happened in that blind spot so I just told them off I just told them they were being disrespectful and they should leave me alone.

They started insulting me after I lashed at them in a high pitched voice and I just went off and they went the other way, but I could still hear them laugh and talking shit coz I refused to give them more attention.I didn't carry my taser today and I just realized it was a big mistake! I don't know why some men have to be this way it's irritating and it's really annoying behavior I know women have gone through this especially in CBD you get touched, gropped and unless we speak up, these dusties will keep taking advantage of our silence.

Edit: Excuse some of the errors I used speech to text.

Bestfriends dynamic

If you have a best friend, are they older or younger or taller or shorter than you? Does that ever make you feel like you're not quite "equal" in the friendship? And how did you two meet?

Weekend takeaway.

Being too overprotective is a huge huuggge red flag, because that will potentially turn into obsession, and the level of jealousy that comes with that,is not hot, sexy or cool.

Hakuna cha ooh my God he loves me that's why he's being this way, 👀 someone who's insecure will cheat on you, because they already feel unworthy of you and that automatically convinces them that you are cheating too so they are just balancing the scores.

Lovely weekend ladies!🫶

Lemme ask initoke😂

Have y'all ever had intercourse with a guy with a heavy accent or just an accent? 😂I have never but I'm quite curious. If you have, did you like ignore it, learn to move past it or did it give you the ick?

If you've never, and in as much as it's something that's really inevitable, is that a reason you'd stop seeing him 👀 Especially if you like some dirty talk or don't like a quiet man in bed?

Thieves got quite creative.

So the other day, when I was talking to a friend I told them about how I was seated in a mat going to town and I sat next to some guy. So when time to pay came, he told the conductor that his phone had shut down, so he asked him if he could help him with his phone, so that he puts his simcard in, and pays then the conductor goes "Hiyo mchezo mimi staki"

I was just listening in, now I wondered what I'd do, coz I knew he'd definitely turn to me and ask me. After a few minutes of fiddling with his phone and trying to turn it on, he didn't get anywhere, and just as I had guess he turned to me and was like "Unaweza nisaidia na phone yako niweke simcard nilipe juu yangu imezima?" I thought about it and said no... Then I asked him, "si naweza kulipia"? He says ni sawa. So I really didn't mind coz the fare was around 50bob and I also remembered what had been happening to those young men who failed to pay fare before in other buses. I honestly didn't want anything bad to happen to him, like getting thrown out juu ya 50bob and I had it.

I paid and when the conductor came back, I showed him the message and he was like cool. Okay so this guy approaches mahali anashukia and he's like "Asante kwa kunilipia, unaweza nipiea number yako, I pay you when my phone is charged?" I just told nisawa there's no need. And his stage came and he alighted. (My friend told me inaeza kuwa he saw my mpesa pin when I was paying and he wanted my phone number ndio akanisafishe). Now imagine if the conductor angekuwa amekubali😂pesa ya siku mzima ingeenda ivo!😂

So mimi, I knew there was some fishy thing that would be done if I gave him my phone to insert his card, but I didn't know what exactly.

When I was talking to my friend, he actually told me that that's a scam they usually run. Aliniambia there's a lady who sells smokies and eggs and that's how some guys stole from her. I was shocked! They went to her stand, ate and they said that their phone had shut down, awapee yake waweke simcard ndio walipe, coz pesa Iko kwa simu. They paid the lady, and she went on with her business. So later on when she got home, alipata pesa yote ilikuwa kwa simu yake imesafishwa yote, even the one that was coming in. Ilikuwa inaingia ikitoka. Poor lady, na hiyo pesa was part of her rent . Kumbe these people were theives.

She went and got a new simcard, and it stopped.

So I actually don't know exactly what they do, but that's some sort of robbery they do in broad daylight without raising eyebrows. Y'all stay vigilant out here. Ukiskia mtu anasema simu imezima kwa gari, just look the other way . Nimeona niwachanue juu pia mimi nilichanuliwa😂
