My personal ranking of the games in the series

My personal ranking of the games in the series

I know that many of you might not care, and I also know that some of you might disagree with certain choices, but in reality, the ratings are almost all high (mine are the ones in the top left; the ones at the bottom are the community’s average ratings, and some of them are truly mind-blowing), and it wasn’t difficult at all to decide what to place higher or lower.
The important thing is that we're all here because we love God of War, right?

God of War has been a very important part of my life and my growth as a video game lover, and I just wanted to share with you my love for this series (and my deep hatred for Sons of Sparta).

PS: I know Ghost of Sparta is missing; I need to catch up and play it. My bad!

Would I be mad to tell you that this is my personal ranking of the games in the entire series?

First off: my ratings are the ones in the top left; the ratings at the bottom are the user averages on the platform.

For me, Killzone was about “starting a series from scratch.” I was born in ’94, and almost all the games I played as a kid were sequels or standalone titles. Killzone was the first real series I started, followed from beginning to end, and loved with all my heart; seeing it “die” was a tough moment for me.

That said, I was reorganizing my collection of games I’ve played over the years, and I realized that this is how I rank the games in the series. It’s a bit different from the average player ratings on the platform. Am I crazy?

I built a dedicated social network for gamers, now live on the Play Store as a PWA

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on called Gamecritx.

The idea came from being frustrated with traditional gaming sites and generic review platforms. I wanted to build a true vertical social network for gamers: a place where you can actually connect with a community, follow other users, like posts, and chat in real time, all while staying updated on the latest releases.

One of the core features I spent a lot of time on is the custom review system. I always hated the classic "one-size-fits-all" 10-point rating scale. On Gamecritx, the rating parameters are optimized and dynamically adapt based on the specific genre of the game (because you shouldn't rate an RPG using the same criteria as a fighting game). To make sure the catalog was complete, I also integrated the IGDB API, so the platform is pre-populated with a massive database of games.

From Web to the Play Store via PWA

Gamecritx started entirely as a web platform (Gamecritx.com), but since community and social interactions are inherently mobile experiences, I knew it needed to be on phones.

Instead of maintaining separate codebases and rebuilding everything natively, I focused heavily on mobile optimization and turned the entire platform into a Progressive Web App (PWA). Once the PWA felt fluid, responsive, and completely native-like (handling smooth animations, dynamic feeds, and real-time chat flawlessly), I packaged it and published it straight to the Google Play Store.

It’s been a great exercise in seeing just how far web apps can go on Android devices today without sacrificing performance. The app is constantly evolving, and I’m always working to make improvements and changes based on user feedback.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the app's performance, the UI, or the custom review concept!

My experience building social for gamers using Lovable

Hello! I wanted to share my experience with Lovable because, as an indie developer, it completely changed my perspective on what a solo dev can realistically handle when tackling a project with a decent amount of technical complexity.

A while ago, I started working on Gamecritx. The idea wasn't to build a traditional gaming blog or news site, but a proper social platform for gamers: a system featuring user profiles, dynamic feeds, followers, real-time chat, likes, and a custom review system where rating parameters adapt automatically based on the game's genre.

Initially, I approached Lovable just to throw together a quick frontend prototype. I fully expected to hit the usual walls of low-code/no-code tools the moment the logic became more complex.

Instead, the entire project grew organically on top of that exact same base. What surprised me wasn't just the initial speed, but how smoothly it handled dynamics that typically require a lot of boilerplate code and configuration:

  • API Integration (IGDB): To populate the platform with a massive game database, I needed to connect to IGDB. Lovable made it straightforward to integrate the external API and map the data into the system.
  • Database Logic & Relations: It handled the backend relationships for followers, notifications, and real-time chat messaging cleanly, without making me feel trapped in a limited "sandbox."
  • Continuous Iteration & Refactoring: I could alter the UI or tweak the genre-specific voting algorithms on the fly without breaking the backend or having to rebuild everything from scratch.

Once the web version stabilized, I took it a step further: I turned the project into a PWA and published it to the Google Play Store, keeping the exact same codebase.

It wasn't a magical journey without bugs: debugging and polishing still required a structured development mindset, but using this tool continuously allowed me to finish and launch a complete product by myself that would have taken me months longer using traditional development.

If you want to check out how it runs, you can see it at https://critx.lovable.app/ . I'd love to know if anyone else here is building structured projects or communities with it and how you're finding it in the long run.

What am I missing out on? What do you think of my list?

Here are all the games from the main series and spin-offs that I've reviewed... My question is: is there anything I've forgotten, that I haven't taken into account, and that's worth checking out? (Keep in mind that I didn’t include the new remastered versions because I consider them an insult to fans of the series and to video game lovers in general, especially for those who grew up with GTA from the very beginning, like me).

If you want to challenge the ranking, I’m open to it: the world is beautiful precisely because there are different points of view and experiences! Let me know what you think and please give me some advice!

(I didn’t include PT, which I still consider a masterpiece, because you only realize at the end that it’s part of the series)(I didn't include the Silent Hill 2 remake because I wanted to stick to the “original” games). If you want to challenge the ranking, I’m open to it: let me know what you think, but please give me some advice!

This is my game library (currently being updated). Show me yours! Give me some ideas!

Hey guys! I’m putting together my list (it’s not easy to remember all the games I’ve played over the past 34 years), and I thought it would be cool to share it with you! Do you guys make lists like this? Show me yours!

I know my reading list isn't exactly extensive, and that many of you have twice (or three times? or even four times?) as much reading experience as I do, but that's exactly why I'm here...
Based on what I liked and didn’t like (listed in order of preference with ratings), what would you recommend? Which indie game blew your mind and made you say, “Oh wow, this is the game I’ve been waiting for my whole life”?

While browsing through the reviews on the site, I came across this game with extremely high ratings: as a horror fan, I was surprised, because honestly, I’ve never heard of it. Does anyone here know it? Does it deserve this score?
