Extenuating Circumstances Policy

We booked a property in WA state near an active wildfire zone and sent an email and documentation to VRBO support two weeks ago asking for a refund. Anyone have any idea what could be taking so long with their decision?

Lung nodules after Keytruds

Hi ladies. I'm a card carrying member of this community and also a caregiver to my husband who was treated for tongue cancer. He was treated with Keytruda which isn't super common yet for tongue cancer. I had posted previously that he developed immunotherapy induced t1 diabetes. Major blow. He also lost his thyroid 🫠but the great news is he achieved a pathological complete response. They found no primary or lymph nodes when they went to do surgery.

Anyway, now we did a 3 mos check up chest CT scan and there are multiples 3-6mm lung nodules that came up. I've read this can be a result of Keytruda as well.

So why am I here? Because I know the Keytruda ladies can share if they've had anything similar. We're obviously worried and our oncologist said we will repeat the CT scan in 3 mos to check for growth.

TLDR; anyone out there who received Keytruda and had lung nodules pop up on a CT scan?

Much love. 🫶🏻 Grateful for you.

Lung Nodules post treatment scan

Hi all, we had our first 3 mos post treatment scan and head and neck was clear but several 3-6mm lung nodules came up on chest CT. Our oncologist said we'll rescan in 3 mos but he wasn't super reassuring. He was being very measured in his response to our questions. Just said they are too small to PET scan and all we can do is wait for them to change....or not.

Diagnosis was stage 2 BOT HPV+. My husband did a clinical trial where he had 3 days of SBRT on tongue and two Keytruda infusions. Once he had TORS surgery post Keytruda there was zero cancer found. No primary tumor left and 70 neck nodes were clear. Our care team was so stoked about the complete response. This is not what we had hoped for after feeling like we're getting back into our daily life.

I know lung nodules are commonly benign but....cancer patient. : /

UPDATE: our oncologist got the film and is completely reassured that these are benign. They were present on the PET scan 9 mos ago but just at a lower resolution. He did a deep dive with us on zoom and these have not grown and he is reassured. That these have been there all along. We will stay on our 3 mos H&N and Chest CT scans which was the plan anyway.

We asked about NavDx and he doesn't use. He said it's been unreliable in his practice and he's not on board with it being a reliable surveillance tool yet. Which is crazy because our surgeon uses it. But they are from different cancer centers. We went with the TORS surgeon at one center but our oncologist is with a different research center. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Moving cities

We're moving cities in the PNW. We are moving to be closer to family and for job prospects. We have a 14 yo son starting a new high school as a result. I can't help but feel so guilty and heartbroken for him. He's having a hard summer knowing it's ending in leaving our home, our city, his friends. I don't know how to support him. I'm just validating his feelings and trying to not talk him out of being sad. I know this move is the best thing for me - my career, my own mental health - but it's one of the only decisions I've made for myself that feels counter to what is good for my son. Makes me sad. 😞 Worried I'm blowing up his life.

Pancreaze

Anyone that's taking pancreaze? My husband is taking and it's been a wild ride the last two days and it's highs and then lows. I think because he's finally digesting carbs and fats that we are going to be on another learning curve. It's been hard.
