I know of quite a few from doing research but I’m trying to get a list of all of them

-Excelsis Dei was originally “The Haunted”

-Irresistible was originally “Fascination”

-Grotesque was originally “Gargoyle”

-Unrequited was originally “MIA”

-Elegy was originally “Revenant”

-The Post Modern Prometheus was originally “Mutato”

Anyone know any others?

This is something I noticed upon rewatch. In those seasons the third or second to last episode functions mainly as a MOTW, but with important mytharc or overall conspiracy components that almost foreshadows the finale/next season setup

S2: Soft Light (demonstrates the lengths the government will go to conceal society altering research and development, which we see in full force in the Anasazi trilogy)

S3: Wetwired (demonstrates the trust and faith Mulder’s cared ones have in him and vice versa, which plays a big part in Talitha Cumi, Herronvolk, and Scully’s upcoming cancer arc)

S4: Demons (demonstrates how far Mulder will go to prove his belief in the paranormal and whether or not anything he’s worked to uncover may actually prove true, which is obviously the basis of Gethsemane/Redux and Mulder’s role in the S5 mytharc)

S5: The Pine Bluff Variant (basically the same thing as Soft Light)

In my opinion these are all some of the show’s best too.

Just rewatched this one (super slept on, has some of the best atmosphere of any ep imo). But I feel like I’m going crazy with a scene I swear I remember from the last time I saw this one

I could’ve sworn there was a part at the end of the funeral scene, where after Lyle leaves, we see Gwen turn back around to Joseph’s burning body, and briefly have a vision of the wolf creature standing tall and upright in the flames, before turning back into the corpse of Joseph.

Am I just misremembering, or maybe conflating this with another episode? I swear I can visualize the scene I’m remembering perfectly

The one I keep returning to is the last 30-ish seconds of AIN’T GIVING UP with that chord change in the beat. Mesmerized by it every single listen
