As soon as I saw them I initially wondered if they were based off the Ramones and thought this show was creative in not having the show's rock and roll band based on the Beatles like so many other shows I grew up with, even making them literal beetles with Liverpool accents such as in Timon & Pumbaa and the whole episode Timon and Pumbaa are worried they might have actually eaten "Ringo". And the "Beats" from this old Nickelodeon cartoon about a boy called Doug. I didn't know who the Beatles were as a kid because my father who was born in the late 1940's DID NOT like them. "Them darn Beatles ruined Rock & Roll!" So I didn't understand who these quartette Liverpool accented rock band characters were supposed to be anyone in particular as a kid.

My brothers were obsessed with the Ramones. I was watching Carl The Collector with my mom because I wanted her to see this cool autism show.....and was hoping the Lotta episode would come on....she took one look at the turtles and asked, "Uhhh? Are those turtles supposed to be the Ramones?"

Can we STOP the selfies already?

I can't browse this subreddit without being stared at by strangers. Yet when there was a special interest map trend I got yelled at for not putting it in a big post. Why can't people put their selfies in a big post? Or at least censor them? I'm getting really close to leaving this subreddit because of all the selfies.

I once heard somewhere that the frog mascot for the alt rock station, WEBN was inspired by the Loveland Frog. Is this true or is it just a regular frog? In the original story, the Loveland Frog was holding a sparkler or doing something with fireworks. WEBN used to host a fireworks show every year.

Back in the 90's and early 2000's, the WEBN frog looked extra mischievous...now he looks like he's just auditioning for a Kermit the Frog gig.

My mother doesn't really like candy or sweet treats; but she LOVES Sour Patch Kids and sour candy. But she was diagnosed with Celiac and if she gets any gluten, she can go into anaphylaxis. Is there a gluten free version of Sour Patch Kids, War Heads, Cry Babies or something like those that is gluten free? And even free of potential gluten exposure via being made in a factory that also handles gluten?

I can't remember where read this, but once upon a time I did read somewhere that Christian Slater was Disney's first choice for the voice of grown up Kovu. They also supposedly wanted some actress who's first name was Adrian (can't remember her last name) to voice grown up Kiara. Is this true? I don't know much about how studios pick what actor they want to play or voice a character. I swear I remember an interview with Carrie Fisher where she said they were originally going to cast Jodie Foster was Princess Leia. And Marvel wanted Danny Devito or Gilbert Gottfried for Rocket Raccoon and when they settled on Bradley Cooper told him to "channel Danny Devito". I've also read somewhere that McCully Culkin was considered for Kid Simba in the original. Is this Christian Slater and Adrian Someone true or just the mad ravings of an almost 40 year old lady.
