I will be doing voiceover for different projects including scripts, short form ads, and singing. While loud singing could require a booth, I feel I won’t have enough time to move to the booth to capture all the work instead of recording from my desk looking at the monitor. For example voicing animated characters is better to watch their movements.

I would treat a room in a temporary way (no construction, it’s a rental) and then use software to finalize achieving this.

I also think the computer fan is a main challenge. Is there a Mac mini model or other mac or pc you recommend to not bleed into your recordings?

Any other suggestions on making this setup work will be much appreciated. I’ve got a good mic for both sound and isolation on an articulated arm.

I would be able to narrate much more work with this setup that doesn’t require constantly going into a separate tiny booth. The idea is the room is sort of a bigger booth that is treated enough to sound decent before software.

Are there venues that have concerts or dance clubs for sounds similar to 90s 00s alternative, dream pop, dance with darker synths? Looking for a queer scene that has patrons in their thirties and forties. The music itself can be modern but have a similar style.

How safe is the area around gold park where the tracks are and the trail? Part of it is not far from downtown, but I see some iron bars on houses. Are those houses and neighborhoods safe at night or do they have crime issues?

Are their parts of Hillsborough you would or wouldn’t recommend with children out walking dogs at night?
