Anyone else find it funny how the cast is just, so much crueler to ordinary people compared to the actual murderers? Like they permanently maim Tarik, chopped Arnold's arm off, and nearly cut a woman in two. Meanwhile they've never done worse than healable stabs and blunt damage to EMBER and Ampers

[Funny Trope] Character has full confidence in winning a challenge. They lose instantly.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Itadori's body is a vessel for the demonic being Sukuna. After Sukuna rips their shared heart out, technically killing them, he offers a deal to Itadori. He'll heal their body in return for certain conditions(1 minute of control where he can't hurt anyone). Itadori refuses and tells Sukuna to heal them with no conditions. So Sukuna offers a challenge. They'll fight to the death and he'll heal them based on the winner's conditions. Itadori immediately agrees, confident he'll be able to b. . . And Sukuna cuts his head in two before he finishes the sentence.

Phantomarine: When Phaedra and her crew attempt to find a relic for the Death God in return for him bringing them all back to life, they find a concerning statue. Phaedra demands the God's acolyte explain but she says Phaedra can't handle the truth. Phaedra says she can handle anything so the acolyte offers a test. She removes her mask to reveal her true appearance. And Phaedra immediately tries to stab her in the face.

Sword Art Online Abridged: Kirito duals the guild leader Heathcliff with the agreement that if Heathcliff wins, Kirito will join his guild. While in the original story, they have an epic dual that Heathcliff only manages to win by cheating, in the Abridged, Kirito has a full mental fight on how he'll be able to beat Heathcliff only to realize Heathcliff's instantly won while Kirito was stuck in his own mind. The dual ended so quick the entire coliseum floor falls to anarchy as the spectators riot.

So how do you think EMBER works from a logistic standpoint? Do agents get paid overtime or do they just do it for the love of the game? Are they given the outfits or do they need to buy them? Do they pay taxes on EMBER income? Should Kuyo call the UnO IRS?

Honorary shoutout to Australian Researchers for avoiding the reveal of the Ballista Spider until June so JUDER couldn't give Breeder its power.

Context: Ballista Spiders are a newly discovered Australian Spider species who in addition to making normal webs will also construct what is essential web based cannons to fire ants into their webs. These cannons are incredibly fast and powerful with them instantly applying over 10 megawatts of power to an ant. MoreParz has a video that goes into more detail on it.

But just imagine what Breeder could've done if he knew these spiders existed.

Is there any reason why John couldn't just copy this guy's invisibility ability and disable Orrin before the battle ever started?

Nevermind. I was just wrong. Credit to u/PomegranateLittle950 for pointing it out and minor spoilers for today's free episode. >!There's a green haired woman who attacks John with Spectral Claw while invisible meaning she's a high tier. So she's likely the person with the Invisibility power and like Terrence, could share it amongst her allies. So that's why John couldn't copy the scout since he didn't actually have invisibility.!<

One of the scouts Orrin sent had an invisibility ability similar to Terrence. If John had copied it along with Jaxon's umbral shift, he'd have been able to sneak up right behind Orrin and disable him before anyone even realized he was there. Hell he could do the same to every God-tier on Orrin's side.

Then they could raid the building without having to worry about the most dangerous variable.

u/M-Shadowtoad — 15 days ago

After the power he's shown recently, feel like Orrin probably could've actually busted Terrence out if he tried.

Orrin was able to infect multiple people without them even knowing they've ever met him and then remotely control them from a long range. Doubt he could do it all the way from his building but if he just chilled in a van a few blocks away, he shouldn't have too much trouble controlling someone inside the prison. He'd just need to find a high ranking prison guard like Colt outside of work hours then use him to get Terrence in a position where his strike team could get him out. At worst he could just take over Kayden as well and get him into a position to teleport Terrence out.

Get why he didn't bother since he just sucks but kinda funny how he'd likely have easily won this fight if he still had Terrence.

[Fun Trope] Undeniably Pure Evil Overlord has Supprisingly Positive Traits.

Hank Scorpio(Simpsons): An evil Bond-like villain attempting to take over the world with his doomsday weapons. Despite his tyrannical goals, he's a great boss to Homer and the rest of his employees. He gives them great benefits, rewards, and even supports them if they wish to leave the company for their own desires.

King James(America: The Motion Picture): Despite being a tyrannical ruler against everything American, when he first learns of Washington's rebellion, his assumption is that Washington just wasn't aware of the rules. Either because they weren't publicly displayed for everyone to know or because he was illiterate. It was only after Benedict Arnold explained Washington was aware of the rules and actively choosing to disobey them that he ordered for Arnold to take Washington's head.

Satan(Helluva Boss): Serving as the brutal classist ruler of Hell in Lucifer's absence. He openly looks down on commoners and treats their lives as meaningless compared to that of nobles. However, even though his title is Sin of Wrath, he actively attempts to control his anger and even has a life coach follow him around to remind him to not lose his cool.

Arlo's Fatal Mistake

If you think about it, Arlo attacking John and Sera kinda sealed Jaxson's fate. The guy had a major cut through his neck and I doubt Amelia in her current state could heal him. However John and Sera would've had little problem doing so. Sera could freeze Jaxson in time to prevent him from drowning his own lungs in blood while also giving John time to drain some energy to heal himself and Jaxson. All Arlo had to do was ask them for help.

However by attacking them, there's no way Sera's going to stop and try to help heal Jaxson meaning he's almost certainly going to die unless Amelia can pull off a miracle.

Says a lot about Arlo's mentality considering his immediate thoughts weren't, "How can I save my comrade's life." and instead, "How can we accomplish our mission?" Thinking like that is probably exactly what Valerie wants.

Will Sera _______?

kill Orrin?

At the moment, John is likely knocked out and Kass's reinforcements are on the way. Sera should have little difficulty breaking free of Arlo's barrier and neither he nor Kass are in a position to fight her. However she can't carry both John and Orrin away and she's not gonna abandon John so her options are

  • Take John and flee: Keeps them both safe but means their mission and likely Spectre as a whole are ruined since the Authorities will have full access to Orrin's memories and countless Spectre secrets including the disabler.
  • Kill Orrin then flee with John: Murder is a line none of the main cast has crossed but right now, its Sera's best option. She won't be able to learn what he knows but neither will the Authorities.

Looking back, I wonder if Breath of Kai was a talent similar to Hand of God. Both along with the Living God share the same Glowing Golden Hair and Eyes. If so, it really adds some extra irony to the townspeople calling her a witch.

Opposite Powers Part 2(Top 10)

Part 2 with the rest of Wellston's top 10 except Zeke.

Glamour: Lets the user create illusionary clones of themselves and their allies. Clones of the user can act independently while clones of other people just mirror what that person does. The user can chose to either make their clones appear next to them or around a target.

Conjure Bark: The user can create incredibly durable but inflexible aura plates similar in form to bark. They can armor it around themselves, create walls, or fire plates as projectiles.

Mirror Blade: The user conjures a large blade made out of aura. Attacks landed on other people with this weapon grant the user a temporary reflective body. Upon upgrades, the user can fire weaker energy slashes at range and even cut mental attacks granting them a mental shield.

Aura Inversion: By sampling another's aura, the user gains an opposite power of the sample. The user can also amp their opposite power so even if they gain a poor match like Lighting from copying Rubberize, the amp lets them overpower their target.

Eternal: Allows the user to enter a state of stasis. Within this state, their personal time if nonexistent rendering the user all but invulnerable. The user can also spread this stasis a short amount beyond themselves letting them conjure shields and blades of time bound air to defend allies and annihilate enemies. Since time technically isn't passing for the user, undoing their stasis fully heals any damage taken within stasis

[Loved Trope] They may be Big, They may be Strong, but at least they're sl. . .Nope, they're a Speedster too.

Sloth(Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood): A giant homunculus used to dig out giant underground tunnels. Initially seemed to fight by using his massive strength to swing around his chains and tank hits with his nigh-impenetrable skin. But he then revealed his true power was his speed, able to move so fast he couldn't even be seen.

Konos Hercule(Ordeal): Known as the Strength Gakki he initially fought with his insane physical strength and perfect healing factor. His opponent tried to wear him down using her teleportation and arrows but got almost instantly overwhelmed when he revealed speed so fast she assumed his power itself was a Haste(speedster powers)

Emporg(Wakfu): Originally a legendary Gobbowl player before his nation imprisoned him to turn him into a weapon. At first glance his power seemed to just be great physical strength to overpower his foes but instead he revealed it was actually speed so great it let him cross the entire field in a blink and even light the ground on fire. His names also a pun on a misspelling of mmorpg.

Opposite Powers Part 1 (Royals)

Credit to u/Anonymouseeeeeeeeees for the Ability Chart and u/TonyKage18 for reminding me about the Opposite Powers series.

Abilities;

Rubberize: Gives the users body properties similar to rubber. Blunt attacks just bounce off and slashing attacks can be easily healed meaning piercing and energy attacks are the only ways to really do damage. The user can bounce around for speed and deal decently powerful hits.

Energy Absorbance: Allows the user to passively absorb various forms of energy. Energy based attacks and kinetic energy from physical attacks can be absorbed and used to fuel the user's own body. This energy can be used to heal and enhance.

Defender: Once activated the user gains a minotaur like transformation with a durable hide, horn weapons and extreme resilience. They also have enhanced senses and the power to anticipate attacks.

Disintegrate: Through touch the user can destroy physical matter. Extremely strong if they can land a blow but with no greater speed or defense than a cripple, most stronger abilities can easily deal with them. Best for assassinations.

Talent: Echo Relay

Type: Haste/Warp

Effects: The talent grants the user the standard increase in speed that all haste talents do. But in addition, it allows the user to warp space around themselves to create translucent but tangible after effects. If the user speaks while in this state, the after effects will as well but at a delay resulting in the echoing relay that gives the talent its name.

In its initial state, the talent's main benefit is close range 1v1 fighting since the user can unleash a barrage of attacks which will multiple thanks to their echoes, overwhelming their foes.

Through training, the user can learn to have their echoes travel independently of the main body to fight in more elaborate ways. These echoes are still only short lived but the added independency can be a game changer in fights. More advanced training can also lead to complex techniques such as,

  • Elemental Echoes: If fighting near an element using Kimyo(ally or enemy), the user can have their echo intangible phase through said Kimyo and absorb a bit of their chi causing the echo to gain an elemental ability. Energy based elements like fire and especially electricity are the easiest but more solid elements like Earth or Ice can greatly enhance an Echo's offensive power.
  • Resonance Bomb: With immense control, the user can send two Echo's on a collision course with one another, timed just right so that their fusion amplifies each Echo to unstable levels causing a powerful spatial eruption.
  • Partial Echoes: By focusing exclusively on a single body part, the user can generate a connected Echo replica, normally in the form of a third arm. These Echoes are a lot longer lasting than other Eches and extremely useful in both combat and simple work.

Inspirations:

  • Son Raz(Ordeal)
  • Echo Knights(DnD/Critical Role)
  • Linen(SLVR,Mark)

Not Their Fault They're Heartless.

Te Kā(Moana): Originally the life goddess Te Fiti, she grew corrupted when the Demigod Maui stole her heart to gain fame and admiration from humanity.

Orgonax(Wakfu): The youngest of the Mechams who was known for originally being a kind and compassionate being. Until his heart was stolen by the Eliatrope Demigod Qilby who turned it into a powerful mystic object known as the Eliacube.

Cody Jones(Paranatural): A young dhampir whose paranoid father was happy to learn he inherited none of the individual weaknesses of either parent. He did not need air or blood, he loved garlic and the sun. And he even aged normally but would likely be immortal in the future. The only issue was the one weakness both human and vampire possessed, a stake through the heart. So his evil overlord/mystic swordsman/doctor father chose to cut out his heart and store it safely in his own chest.
