Not a fake review

My RSD Fragment TS arrived from Panda Vault. I’m totally impressed with everything except the low resolution QC pics. I wasn’t going to be very picky because I plan on beating the shit out of these shoes. However I don’t want to get a bunk ass pair and I really couldn’t zoom in and see the details of these shoes clearly. I just said to myself, “fuck it, send ‘em”. Glad they were a nice pair. Thank you RSD and Panda Vault.

GDBs

Stopped by Malley’s Rallys today to say hi. The 04 is going to have its engine pulled soon, it’s a knockin’. It’ll be nice to see it’s revival. Anyway a cool shot was lined up so I took it. Bought our 02 new. About 2 years ago it received a complete JDM v7 STi swap including the interior. Such a great daily.

Fuzzmaster drop in kit

Yesterday my friend Devin (Freestone Devices) and I wired up the first 5 of our Fuzzmaster kits. This is a drop in for Jazzmasters; just hook up your pickups and bridge ground. We have replaced the rhythm circuit with a Fuzzface based fuzz that utilizes the rhythm circuit controls. The prototype came out sweet and we made a rad demo video. We will be doing a proper product launch soon. Thought this was a good place to show it off in the meantime. Cheers!

Advice?! Just starting down the CNC path…

Hello. I am interested in getting started in the CNC router world and I have some questions. Over the past year I have setup and slightly modded a K40 laser. It was tricky to get it dialed in but in the end it works really well and I couldn’t be happier. So, ultimately, I’m looking to get into this potential CNC router for as little as possible. The Chinese machines are tempting. On AliExpress I see a machine called LYBGACNC model LYFS5080 500x800 2,200w water cooled spindle, USB connection and Mach3 software. Does anybody have any experience with these Chinese machines? It looks like a solid unit with a large working area. Are there any red flags? I really appreciate anybody that takes the time to read my question and send a reply with some guidance. 🙏

Gypsy Face -new switch day

Hello. I had to replace the switch in my Lofimind Effects Gypsy Face yesterday. Took some pictures while it was apart. It’s loaded with interesting parts. Germanium transistors: black glass Valvo OC44/OC45 (double marked?!) and a Matsushita 2SB175. These are made in Grenada, Spain by my friend César de Vicente. He puts a lot of love into his work and I can’t recommend his pedals more. Hope you all have a fuzzy day.

Fresh build, built in fuzz

I recently finished my first JM build. Handmade from scratch on a reproduction of Leo’s production line from the early 60’s. This is a Brazilian rosewood 59-62 slab with all exacting details down to the handmade 3/16” cold rolled steel truss rod. I took the opportunity to use the cavity space and rhythm circuit controls to build in a fuzz unit. My friend Devin at Freestone Devices built the fuzz. It’s based on the silicon Fuzz Face. I wound up some tall coil (3/8” coil height vs the stock 1/8”) pickups using my proprietary vintage recipe A5 magnets and USA made 42awg plain enamel magnet wire. 250k vol and tone pots. It came out killer. The fuzz integrated into this guitar perfectly. Devin nailed it. I love the way the fuzz cleans up when the guitar volume is rolled back.

Mars yard 3.0 PK QC TMF

What up dogs? I got QC pics from TMF. The toe boxes look very different on this pair. This will be the second pair of PK Mars Yard 3.0 I’ve bought from TMF. The first pair was very symmetrical and both shoes looked like the one on the right in the picture. I have never RL a shipment before but I asked for another pair. Was that the right move? Thank you all.

Mars Yard 3.0

Hello bros. I am wondering what batch is better quality and more accurate for Mars Yard 3.0. PK or LT? LT is 30 yuan more. I have a pair of PK batch and like them but I see discrepancies and I’m wondering about the LT batch. Thank you all.

GDB love

A couple clean OG survivor California cars. My 02 is a complete jdm v7 swap. The blobeye is used up but solid to the core. It’s at my friend’s shop for a new engine. The rods be knockin’. We are very lucky to not have to contend with rust issues. During my v7 STi swap not one bolt broke. Unreal.

High idle when first started

Hello everybody. Hot or cold when I fire up my HA4 it’s got a very high idle. It’s been doing it the past few months. Any ideas on the fix?

17x8 +45 w/ 235/45R17 is the perfect fit and I wanted to share my results. Last week I ran something over on the freeway that destroyed my left rear tire and I opted for a fresh set. When I did the complete v7 STi swap (almost two years ago) and bought the 17’s and 225/45r17 I kinda messed up but it’s corrected now. The 225 on the 8” wheel was not ideal. The wheel was wider than the tread width of the tire. The 235 fits these wheels perfectly. They are noticeably wider and just a tiny bit taller. If you have 8” wide wheels I would highly recommend bumping up the tire size to the 235.
