Will FME really work?

Hi, after struggling with Bilevel for 2 years now and after a Septoplasty/turbinate reduction did little to nothing for my sleep, I am starting to consider FME expansion. I have not had a consultation yet or scans so of course I would have to first determine whether I am a good candidate for this treatment.

However I am a bit skeptical about how effective this treatment would even be for me. I would try it in a heartbeat if it were covered by insurance but since it out of pocket and literally costs half of my life savings I am very worried about spending that kind of money and it not helping my sleep.

Can anybody comment on the likelihood of this actually improving sleep. Is there a very high percentage of success with FME, or is it just another shot in the dark like a Septoplasty. I really appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!!

Grooming my 4 month old toy poodle

Hi, I recently became a dog parent to a beautiful little toy poodle. I used to work as a hairstylist and barber for a decade before pivoting to a different industry completely. I find the idea of learning to groom my little guy both very challenging and exciting.

I know grooming dogs vs humans are two different worlds but I miss working with scissors and I would love to try to learn how to do it as I think it would be very satisfying…eventually.

I am willing to invest in high quality tools so no cheap scissors or clippers. I am wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction or give me some recommendations for the right types of scissors I would need and what clippers you would recommend? I often see some groomers on videos using loncurved blending scissor which looks very nice for detailing and getting a nice rounded shape on the face.

Anyway I am looking for some direction and I would appreciate any advice anybody might have.

Thanks!!

How much time to spend in Lake Placid (summer)?

Hi, I am planning a trip to Adirondacks in late July and have always wanted to visit LP. I am wondering if 2 nights would be enough to do much in the area, or is this not nearly enough time to really enjoy Lake Placid? My plan was to go to Burlington after LP so only have so many days for the trip and trying to squeeze both in. Plans for LP would be to explore the town and get out on the lake kayaking and swimming. Not really big hiker so probably wouldn’t be looking to do any long hikes.

I appreciate any feedback if you have any.

Thanks in advance.

Something is off with this gallery

Ok first of all I threw this little wall gallery way too quickly and didn’t put enough thought in to selecting prints and proper placement. I would also prefer to mix in some other items that are not just prints….so like a framed vintage postcard or things to this effect. Right now everything just looks pretty off to me and I wanted to post it here to get some suggestions if anybody has any? I appreciate any feedback if you have any.

Thanks!!

Where to get a PAP therapy data analysis?

Hi, I am wondering if anybody can suggest somewhere where I can get a PAP analysis to review my Oscar data. I’ve been struggling with Bilevel for almost a year now and after trying a bunch of different pressure recommendations based on feedback I got online, I still cannot seem to get much benefit from PAP therapy. At this point I would be happy to pay someone to get some direct feedback on my data and try to dial in my treatment better. I appreciate any recommendations if anybody has any?

Thanks

Staying in Wellfleet

Hi, I am panning a trip to Cape Cod in August. I am looking at Wellfleet as it seems like a nice place to stay. I figure it might be a little more low key than Hyannis or Chatham or any of those very popular places but not sure of my assumption is correct? Traveling with my wife and we just want to relax and do a bit of sightseeing. I figure a day trip to Provincetown also as it seems close and have heard great things. Do you think this is a good place to visit for somebody who has never visited the Cape before? I appreciate any feedback!

Thanks!!

Traveling coast to coast with puppy

Hi, our puppy is currently 4 months old and we are trying to organize a trip in late July to California. We live on the east coast however so it’s a 6 hour flight which I am worried is too much for our dog. We want to bring him on the trip and since he is a toy poodle he can travel in the cabin in a case under the seat. I’ve flown with him once already when I picked him up but this was a 90min flight so much shorter in duration. He handles that flight well and slept throughout.

As much as we would love to have our dog with us to walk on the beaches, I don’t want to put him through a lot of stress so wondering if it would be irresponsible to put him on a flight this long as around 6months of age when he is still so young? Wondering what others think about this? We don’t want to leave him at home boarding so if we don’t end up doing the trip we will drive somewhere more local for a few days instead.

Thanks!

Sleep specialists in NYC

Hi, I have been on CPAP/BIPAP for the past 2 years with no noticeable differences in sleep quality. I have only ever had an at home watchPAT sleep study which showers UARS like numbers (high RDI and low AHI).

I am trying to go further down the rabbit hole and would like to find a good doctor. I am located in NYC and am wondering if anybody happens to know of any good sleep doctors here who would be up to date in their research.

Thanks!!!

Hi, I have a 12 week old toy poodle who I am really struggling to train direct eye contact with. I have been using the technique where I sit with him on the floor and call his name if make a kissy noise to try and get him to look up at me before rewarding him. I can’t seem to get him to raise his eyes higher than my chest haha. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can train this better? I appreciate any advice!

Thanks
