My favorite photo from my first ever photography session

I bought a Canon EOS R7 as my first camera and tried it out yesterday. This is my favorite photo from that walk. It was a very cloudy day, but I think this one turned out ok despite the gray dull lighting.

[New Gear] First camera and attempt at photography

Bought my first ever camera (Canon EOS 7+kit 18-150mm) and took my first photography walk yesterday. Unfortunately it was extremely cloudy and gray, so the lighting wasn't ideal. This was my favorite photo of that walk and I edited the raw to my liking in Darktable.

I came out of my first walk with a craving for a bigger lens. Something like the Canon RF 100-400mm. Those pesky birds just don't have the courtesy of coming closer by themselves.

Is isopropyl alcohol+q-tip safe for cleaning?

I got my first camera today and I don't have a cleaning kit yet. I have isopropyl alcohol for cleaning electronics. Is cleaning lenses using a q-tip wetted with ipa safe? Also wiping with a microfiber cloth after that.

Mine arrived together with my first camera, so here's an extra crispy shot of the controller

6-10 days group in the EU (Finland) and it arrived today. By pure coincidence, my first camera arrived at the same time, so I picked up both today. My first pictures go to the new steam controller.

Is Canon EOS R7 a good starter camera with these lenses and prices?

I want to get into photography. There's just so many options that it's hard to know what is good bang for your buck. Currently I'm interested in nature and landscape photos. I don't care about video performance. My budget is 1000-2000€ range for the whole kit.

Saw Canon EOS R7 being sold at a hefty discount with this 100-400mm lens that should allow for taking nature photos from a bit further away. I added a nifty fifty 50mm as a more general use starter with it. So do these seem like an okay deal and a good starter kit? These are Finnish prices with a 25,5% vat so they're probably pricier than other countries. I checked our used market and the offers are either old and cheap or new and barely cheaper than shops.

Edit: Found a good barely used deal for this camera with the 18-150mm kit lens+memory cards+ external flash+extra battery+carrying bag. Thanks for the advice. I'll consider my next lens once I see what I'm lacking.

Thinking about getting into photography and checked my country's (Finland) online used market. Noticed there's a Panasonic Lumix S5 being sold for 2000€. It comes with:

-Panasonic Lumix S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Macro OIS

- Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6

- Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8

- Panasonic Lumix S 35mm f/1.8

-Two batteries

-Urth K-L adapter

-Some filters

Just the first big one is being sold for 950€ new and the second one for 500€. They say it was bought 2022 and is lightly used. Did I stumble upon something amazing or what? I know very little about cameras, especially how they handle being used.

This is a very common trope in these kinds of books. I'm not saying it's objectively bad, but reading the same "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down" explanation for the fiftieth time gets old. So any good stories where mc is strong, but doesn't do everything in their power to stay lowkey and unknown?
