Mesh Fence —Venetian fence overhaul or plant with climbers

Hey everyone..excited first time poster here ..the pics show the view from my new sitting room extension ..as you can see the developer has put a mesh fence in with an existing ditch behind ..the question is ..whether to put a Venetian fence over this mesh fence or to populate with some kind of climber plant ..any suggestions would be hugely appreciated..if it is the planting suggestion is there something that would look ok in winter and summer ? Thanks everyone…PS there is a patio/entertainment area going where the stone is..so would planting cause a lot of flies/bees etc close to this ?

Paint a new Torch on felt roof

Hey everyone,

As the heading states…new torch on roof gone on ..initially it was coated in that dreadful silver stuff that’s supposed to reflect the sun..while that’s fine..I can’t be looking down on a silver roof to a new extension on a three year old house..any thoughts on a black coating I can use to get rid of the silver look…thanks all

Battery Blinds (remote control)

Looking for any experiences people have with ordering online blinds battery operated with a remote control (not app as heard horror stories) I have two 80cm wide by 200 cm long windows that need blinds , some basic grey/anthracite colour.

I am happy to install myself and looking for recommendations for online ordering

Thanks all

Badly need this Tile : INGALLS ROBLE 10cm X 60cm

Hey everyone, I am currently building an open plan extension and my entire downstairs is done in this tile. However, it has been discontinued by the Spanish supplier to Ireland and is now only available in a larger size. Just asking any tilers or tile shops who may have some stock left over I’m hoping to source some from various places to make up 20 sqm overall. Any help is hugely appreciated

Pocket doors- Solid/Glass

What are people’s thoughts on a pocket door that can be used to cut off an extension from the kitchen if needed…the extension is through the gap left by old double French doors so wondering should I have glass in it to let light through from skylight and glass wall in extension or should it be completely separate when needed by having a solid door

Holiday in Devon Cornwall area late September

As the heading states - we are looking at heading away for a week in late September with a 3 yr old and an 8 week old. Has anyone any recommendations for a week in the Devon/Cornwall area or something similar leaving from Rosslare port in Ireland by car n the ferry. I’m open to any type of experience. I’d love to hear any experiences people have had visiting these areas with young families. We have a large SUV with plenty of space for all the necessary things a newborn baby will need.

PS any other areas worth exploring in the general area using Fishguard port as an entry I am
also open to

Thanks so much everyone ❤️

Window Tinting house instead of Blinds

Anybody got any experience of this. I’ve seen it from the outside and seems to do the job of reflecting everything and stopping people looking in. But what is it like on the inside? Doesn’t kill the light a bit ? Also any idea of costs etc (Cork area)

Dent in Aluminium shed (Adman)

Hey everyone, has anyone ever had a large dent in asked removed by someone like an auto dent guy? Digger hit the shed this weekend and as you can see it doesn’t look great. This is an adman shed pretty much the same as a steel tech. Any suggestions would be great appreciated.

PS I am aware that this can be a diy job with pullers etc and heat and I can DIY with the best of them but I really would like the original professional finish. Any ideas??

Portable Toilet rental for Building team

Have some work starting for about 10 weeks in my house and wondering should I rent a portable toilet for the workers. We have a downstairs toilet but our 3 yr old gets minded at home during the day and my wife works from home. Our dogs also go nuts when anyone visits or walks in which is not conducive to working from home. Is this a done thing or am I being Bougie and a bit snobby here.

If anyone has done this I’d love to know about costs and servicing by a pump truck etc.
