Hi! I’m seventeen. This summer, I was supposed to go to a summer camp for the first time in my life, I’m a social person so I wanted to go to one for years, but my mom managed to get me into one only this year. The summer camp I was supposed to go to had many people (including counsellors) & some friends that I know.

Some info before I continue: The summer camp is kinda expensive, especially to my family who’s veeery mid with money(+I have 3 siblings and a cat), so I was working since mid-june for 10 hours everyday to help my mom get the money for it.

It’s a week till my summer camp now and my dad confessed to me that he thinks summer camp is a waste of time and money, he’s always trying to save money & doesn’t like socialising so I understand why he thinks that…but he also knew that I REALLY wanted to finally go to one sincehe never let me go before I turned seventeen.

So he kinda gave me two choices:

• The first one is that if I won’t go to the summer camp, he will add me around $200 dollars so I could buy a new phone since my current one is getting old (Iphone XS max)

• The second one is that I simply go to the summer camp

I honestly feel like the phone is a better and more practical choice, but also at the same time it’s probably my last chance to go to a summer camp bc next summer Im going to prepare for university admissions & have exams…so I’m feeling conflicted.

Btw I have a blog on tiktok and since my video quality isn’t the best, so a new phone would be great for that too.

It’s hard to choose, my mom promised me this summer camp last summer so I was really excited🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m conflicted, both choices feel good to me but the phone logically is better

EDIT + DECISION: Hey, thank you everyone for answering! All the answers made me actually tear up and remember that I’m a really sentimental person, I cherish all my memories from 10 and 5 and 1 years ago so much…I’m not even an adult yet. So making memories is really important to me, yeah I can save to a new phone later. I felt so pressured that I almost forgot about myself while thinking of material stuff and how to make my dad proud. I will choose the camp definitely, thanks again!

My all-time favorite is definitely Mizi from Alien Stage. I love everything about her, love how selfish and selfless she is at once. I love how complex her character is, analysing her was my favorite part of alien stage. She’s so interesting to me, the Hyuna and Mizi fight in “Witch’s Decision” comic made me love her more because I’m totally on her side there, to me, Hyuna’s love was too cruel I love Mizi’s survivor’s guilt, it’s so heartbreaking to me, her character is heartbreaking yet heartwarming to me at once. Her being lesbian is also a big part of her that some dismiss, I like how her character portrays misogyny and homophobia at once.

Hey, I know that my type isn’t accepted by some people and I completely understand why actually?? I think that it’s obvious that SO3 is literally the ET type. I have some thoughts on why EF doesn’t go with EF but I ALSO have some thoughts and ideas why EF does work with SO3. I don’t know anything that would make EF SO3 make ZERO sense and I also havent seen anything that would 100% proof EF SO3, I have talked with some people about that and everyone has such different opinions on this type. I’m extremely curious to hear some thoughts

REALLY shortened arguments against ef so3(I can do a longer version if someone wants):

• Fe base values harmony of the group and actually cares for emotions and feelings of others and themselves, while so3 would show care for their image which is more of a strategy than genuine care, ofc that doesn’t mean that so3 are heartless, it’s just theoretical. SO3 thinks about their image and themselves first, their personal values and goals are what drives them, which is more ET/Te base than EF/Fe. EF will try to feel like they belong, while so3 looks for recognition more than belonging and most of the times can dismiss people they don’t feel close to if they won’t bring them anything valuable.

REALLY shortened arguments for ef so3:

• SO3 can be EF because of the similarity of their overcompensation mechanisms. The simple perception of SO3 as an ET type due to its focus on success ignores the fact that its "performance" and constant need for validation can be dictated by emotional dynamics. Both Jung and Naranjo agree that excessive theatricality, emotional speech and attempts to conform to a prestigious image are defense mechanisms of denial, intended to hide inner insecurity and emptiness through the manipulation of social impressions. The apparent coldness and calculation of SO3 do not deny its belonging to EF, but rather confirm it. According to Jung, when EF completely subordinates itself to external objects, it loses its warmth.

I started to doubt my type due to soome reasons so maybe someone could debunk, or on the contrary confirm my type

I honestly don’t really like this idea because newbies choose their tritypes based on subtype descriptions because of that, but I don’t mind if people who know enneagram well do that only for fun and inform others that subtypes in tritypes aren’t actually real
