I need some hope

I’m 18M and got mono 6 months ago, for the first month it was normal and after that I actually recovered for like a week, all of a sudden after that week I just got way worse and got PEM, POTS, and worst of all very bad muscle aches like I had the flu. Ever since then I have been slightly up and down, and a week ago, I’ve started to get significantly worse and almost been fully bed bound (in the summer I was able to do about one light activity a day like one 10 min walk). I’m scared I’m deteriorating into severe ME/CFS, I’m just scared and looking for even a bit of positivity. Thanks guys.

Please give me advice

I’m 17M and got mono march 18th, I was sick until May 2nd and made rapid recovery until May 15th when I crashed badly, POTS, bad body aches, and now bad PEM, I’m mostly house bound. I’m devastated. It’s September 5th now and I’ve made virtually zero progress since. Most of the people that know anything tell me actually recovering is extremely difficult, I’m just so shocke. I’m sorry to be so negative, I’m just really upset.

Please give me advice

I’m 17M and got mono march 18th, I had typical sickness until about May 1st when I started seeing recovery and was about 95% better for a week, all of a sudden, in May 15th, I started getting rapidly worse: bad body aches, extreme fatigue, feeling so off. Ever since then, I have had a roller coaster of fluctuation, but my best day since has maybe been 50% of what I used to be before I got sick. And now it’s August 27th and I genuinely don’t feel much different than I started feeling May 15th. Am I screwed? Is it chronic fatigue syndrome? My life has been completely paused, and I barely do anything and am struggling. Any advice or information would help.

Please give me advice

I got sick with mono this past March, the typical sickness, body aches, mild fever, sore throat, but now it is the end of July, and I am having severe PEM, and chronic fatigue, and feel worse then when I was acutely sick from mono, I’m only 17, and it has ruined my oppurtunity to go to uni next year. I have read CFS is a hopeless illness, and only 10% truly make full recovery, is there anything positive anyone could tell me? I know there is worse stories on here but I’m starting to genuinely lose hope of feeling better.

Please give advice - I am so devastated/lost

I’m in my late teens and got mono on March 18th, had typical mono symptoms until middle May and felt better for a week, and then later that week I started to feel terrible fatigue and aches like I did with mono, and I haven’t been the same since (July 10th now), and it’s just been another long stretch of insane fatigue, aches, and hopelessness. I am now likely going to have to miss university. I don’t know what to do or say. I’m shocked - I didn’t think a virus like mono could be so life altering as I have seen friends recover from it in 2 weeks. I’m so devastated, any advice or words would be appreciated.

Please give me advice - desperate

I am a teenager and I have got mono last March and it is now late June and I still have full blown body aches, and feeling like I pulled an all nighter while sleeping 10 hours. I have no life, I sit inside all day, I have no connections with friends. I’m desperate for a way to recover, because what I’m doing doesn’t seem to do anything. I have missed so many important things in my life, that this illness has basically changed me as a person and is leaving me with long lasting consequences. Please give me advice anything helps.

DO NOT TAKE SUMMER SCHOOL IF U PLAN ON UW

Just got rejected from Waterloo mech Eng with 96 average, I took chem in summer school. I had avg adjustment factor and good ecs, I suspect the chemistry likely harmed my application, for any of you younger students I would highly recommend not risking it.
