State of the world (USA) psychotic/mental breaks…
Overall theme of worry when seeing more road rage and people just off their rockers.
Makes sense to me when not having our basic needs met of food, groceries, education, childcare Healthcare, etc.
But on a smaller personal scale, this is my question…
Have now had second severe incident in as many years where someone- totally unrelated to each other - in close prosimity to our family (i have young children) had a psychotic break and tried to harm/hurt/kill people/animals..
Both grown-ups that had no history of former psychotic breaks, criminal history, etc.
Both without anyone dying, but in one case an animal and another where attempted murder charges will be filed.
How do you reconcile this with supporting them in the future- but also severe fear, discomfort, grief, distrust?
Besides the conundrum of also talking to elementary age children —without details if possibie- but not being able to ignore it altogether.
They will already get some information from friends, school, news etc…
I don’t know if it’s just the era, but it’s not just the news because this isn’t reading about things.
These are the events touching our family. Not that matters or mental health discriminates but loving family great extended relatives, good relatively “normal” school, house, jobs etc.
(also what is normal and I get that no family truly is but you know what I’m saying…)
These consume my mind with worry and wanting to be there for friends or family and my kids, but also not knowing how.
I admit there is fear of being close to someone or almost feeling like mental breaks spread… Or are in the community of American life.
Anyone have experience or feeling similar?
