How do you organize the books in your library?

I have new book shelves being made currently and they should be installed next week. Fingers crossed. I am trying to decide how I want to organize the books once they are up. Obviously now I have books 3 deep on my one small shelf and more in boxes and totes which sucks.

I cant decided if I want them organized alphabetically by author or by genre. I see some of y'all doing it by color and my OCD cant with that. I need my book series together. Which do you feel is easier to navigate for yourself?

There was a "Pumpkin" in my tobacco patch today.

Our tom cat Pumpkin followed me while I was chopping weeds out of our tobacco patch because he really wanted all of Moms attention.

I finished my 30 days and am now totally struggling with reintroduction.

I guess Im having a hard time deciding if things are coincidence or a reaction and what to do about it?

I started on day 31 with sugar. I put 1 tsp of honey in my coffee and within an hour I had to run to the bathroom 3 times. Now in my normal life, im almost always a little constipated. That was one of the things i hoped whole30 would help with but it didnt really. So was the sugar what gave me diarrhea or just a coincidence of a stomach bug? Day 32 I had some electrolytes with sugar while out working with no reaction and I did honey in my coffee day 33 with no reaction. So? Not really sure there.

Then day 34 I introduced rice. I made jambalaya for dinner and had no reaction. But woke up day 35 and my hands are super swollen (which before whole30 was VERY common for me but went away during the 30 days) and I have the sniffles. Reaction to rice? Should I do whole30 for 2 more days and try rice again to see if the same things happen?

I dont know why this is so confusing to me but its stressing me for sure.

When you love your cat to death and they bairly tolerate your existence.

We have cats.. all the cats. Our neighbor moved and left his cat. (So rude, I know.) She adopted us and then gave us 7 kittens before she passed. They are all outdoor barn cats and all fixed so dont come at me. But we love them SO much and they just tolerate our existence so they can have food. This is my girl Bernie, she loves us the most. But her love didn't go for enough for our photo shoot in the flowers today. 🤣

Im in love with my new chair cover for work!

I have a problem... I ALWAYS sit with atleast one foot tucked up under me at work. Well raking my shoes on and off my chair for years has taken its toll. My boss has been complaining about how bad it looks and wants to get me a new chair, but I love mine. Its comfortable. Soooo for $5.30 of clearence Walmart fabric, I made a cover. My boss is happy and I am happy. And also, everyone in the office is now jealous of my adorable office chair.

I didnt use a pattern. Just saw a YouTube short about it once, measured my chair (incorrectly), then cut it out of cotten upholstery fabric, sewed a tunnel around the edge and put elastic through. Sorry my explanation sucks but I am very new to sewing.

Fray questions.

So i just finished my 4th of July shirt and I love it but I noticed the cotten fabric is fraying around the edge. I hate it. So thoughts on how to keep this from fraying off in my first wash? I was thinking about channeling my grandma and using puffy paint around the edges but didnt know if that would fix it or if I would try something else? Or is it to late, live and learn?

Spent an incredible few days with my mom in and around New River Gorge and Babcock State Park.

We camped at The Outpost in the tree house platforms and in Babcock State Park which were both wonderful. Did the bridge walk and hiked Endless Wall and Kaymoor Mines. Such beautiful and unique hikes. Also enjoyed talking to the gentleman who still runs the grist mill in Babcock. Lastly, we hunted some of the waterfalls for the West Virginia waterfall challenge. This state is a cool place.

Im pretty sure I have never been on a camping trip and not been rained on. Cursed? Maybe. Talk rain jackets with me.

Like my title says, its gonna rain on my camping trip this week. My gear is pretty tuned in at this point because like I said, it literally always rains on me for atleast part of my trip. But the only thing I hate is rain jackets/ponchos.

Usually if im camping, im hiking, climbing, or kayaking and i am never comfortable sweating it out in a plastic Pancho or jacket. I also dont have big $$$ to drop on a rain jacket since I only go out a few times a year at this stage in my life. But does anyone have suggestions on rain jackets they actually dont mind being active in?

Went for a walk this beautiful morning and accidentally ran instead. 🤣

We have gotten over 12 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks (which we REALLY needed). But as much as I have thanked the Lord for the rain, there is only so long you can be cooped up without a good sunny cool early morning run. I love this time of year!

First time sewing a blanket!

My cousin is expecting her first and I have gone a bit sew crazy. I just learned to sew and I am hooked. The blanket turned out better then I thought and I was so proud of how good the quilting part turned out. And I love the adorable baby mits. I just hope they fit!

Its just a cotton top with flannel bottom. I cut 4x4 squares for the top. I will say I alternated them so it appears randome but is actually a pattern because I am honestly a little OCD.
