Kinda makes you wonder why "developers" make shovelware in this day and time, when internet and ai is full of resources. Meanwhile we used to get full games in sizes of 15Mb.
After i finished collecting sony consoles (the regular ones, still missing ps5 pro, psx, pockestation, vita tv)... it seems that everywhere i go i see good deals on consoles i already own, wich are in better condition (the ps3s were never opened, brand new inside).
I get them to replace mine and hoping i will sell the older ones. But already some weeks have passed and i just can't find myself posting them online. :))
Do i have issues and need therapy or is this somethig that just happens? :D
Today i got a CECH-2503A and as last time, it's clean af, all screws and covers on their places, came with one controller at 35euros! Can't wait till next weekend to see what else that guy brings!
Still, that dried paste and expired cmos battery needed replacement. It's such a pleasure to do maintenance on clean consoles! No stinky smell, no dead bugs, no sticky things... with no rust to be afraid to get tetanus. :))
My "old" one in collection is a CECH-3004B, don't know now wich one to make my primary collection piece. Any advice? :D
I was watching someones insane collection of rare dev/test kits and other rare retro consoles that not even google can give one simple result, and guys showed us that PS2 look-alike console but from Fujitsu Siemens... they say they didn't figure out what it is and what it does. Someone has a clue?

Grabbed it this morning, CECH-4303A (sad no hdd and even tray) no box, not that clean outside, but with one original controller and full original cables (first time in my lifetime i see a MiniUSB ps3 cable from sony).
That BD lens is compared with my CECH-4004C (double laser lens unit).
Tested it, came with default firmware version i think, no data/saves/or settings, clock showed 16/03/2026.
Already happy about my purchase i went to clean it and change thermal paste, then hfw it (really want to see all time running on it and i will post it after i finish).
The console had the seal intact! Doesn't have a spec of dust inside, not even on PSU, looks spanking new, original thermal paste and even pads look like new (very maleable, not dried out at all) - CPU markings transfered to the heatsinks lmao in pictures.
Also never saw that small RSX... is that the 28nm one? Sorry for any typing mistakes!
I am a console collector, not video game collector since i barelly play them. But few games i have i want them to rip and use them digitaly (my ps2 fat laser unit just broke) kinda afraid to use them any more (ps, psone, ps2 slim 7000 and slim 9000)
Tight on money so i wanted to know if there is a solution to use on both generations. I heard MemcardPro 2 can be used to run games from MicroSD on ps1 and ps2, but can't find anywhere if i can configure it to be able to be used on both ps1 and ps2 (like today i want to play on OG Ps, tomorrow maybe on ps2 fat and in weekend to test the ps2 slim or PsOne) just a plug-and-play configuration fir all of them. (Only to run the softmod and the game, for saves i have original memory cards)
Is it doable? Or at least i can get away with buying two of them? I read alot about MemcardPro, SD2PSx, PSxMemCard... but also MX4sio. What would be the cheapest setup to have in my situation?
*As a reference point i can barelly find a spare ps2 memory card on used market sites, no psx cards or anything else, so everything i need to import from outside.
