Looking for Executive/Celebrity Style Thick Acetate Frames with tinted or photochromic lenses

I'm looking for a pair of optical glasses with a strong vintage Italian aesthetic.

These are the frames I'm considering (the ones marked with * are my favorites).

Which one would you pick, and why?

I'm going for a clean executive look—classic Italian acetate with sharp rectangular or slightly square frames.

I'm also planning to get lightly tinted prescription lenses instead of clear lenses. If I go with a black frame (probably Senda, Zenda, or Gatenac), would you choose dark/medium/light gray or brown lenses? Any other tint colors you'd recommend for a timeless executive/vintage look?

I'm also open to recommendations besides these models, especially lesser-known or no-name brands that offer good quality and solid craftsmanship.

Instacart disabled my account after my first order and won't tell me why - really weird

I created an Instacart account and placed my first order. Shortly afterward, my account was suspended and I was asked to verify my identity by uploading my government-issued ID and a photo of my payment card.

I uploaded the requested documents multiple times. Yesterday, an Instacart support representative told me to clear my browser cookies and upload them again. I followed those instructions, but the verification still failed.

Today, I placed an order through the Aldi app, and it was canceled immediately and is now on hold.

I've called customer support several times. The only answer I get is that I can no longer use Instacart, but no one can tell me why. They also won't explain why my documents keep getting rejected.

My ID and payment card are legitimate, and I'm willing to provide any additional documentation they need. I just want to know what the problem is and how I can resolve it.

I'm using a U.S. phone number. On my first account, I used a Turkish credit card, so I thought that might have been the issue. For my second account, I used my Chase debit card instead, but nothing changed. As soon as I placed the order, it was canceled immediately, and the account was suspended again. At this point, I have no idea what's triggering the suspension because changing the payment method didn't make any difference.

Has anyone experienced like similar this before? Were you able to get your account restored, or is there a way to reach someone in Trust & Safety who can actually review the case?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

EB3 Tech related jobs

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the U.S. on an H-2B visa, working in retail, but my background is in Computer Engineering.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and about a year of experience working at a startup and as an SAP HCM consultant in Turkey. Ideally, I'd like to continue my career in tech, but I'm also open to changing industries if they are paying fair hourly wages.

I've been researching the EB-3 process, but almost every opportunity I find is for fast food, restaurants, housekeeping, or similar entry-level jobs.

My questions are:

  • Is it realistically possible to find an EB-3 sponsor for office, IT, manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, or other non-fast-food jobs?
  • Has anyone here successfully transitioned from an H-2B visa to an EB-3 position in a professional or semi-skilled role?
  • Where do employers that directly sponsor EB-3 usually advertise these jobs?
  • Is networking and contacting companies directly more effective than using agencies?

I'd appreciate hearing from people who have actually gone through the process. I'm trying to understand whether I should keep looking for better EB-3 opportunities or if fast food and similar jobs are simply the reality of the current market.

Thank you!

which water filter should I pick?

I'm living in a shared house in Gatlinburg, TN, so I can't install an under-sink filter. I'll only be here for about 5 months, so I just need something that lasts that long, improves the taste, and removes as many contaminants as possible. I'm considering a water pitcher/dispenser (Culligan, ZeroWater Dispenser, Epic Water) or a gravity filter (Purewell, Phoenix, or Waterdrop). Which one would you recommend based on real-world experience? I'm looking for the best balance of filtration, taste, filter life, and overall value. Any long-term experiences or better alternatives?

H2b to H1b transition

Hi everyone. I came to the US on an H-2B visa and I'm trying to figure out the best path to find an employer willing to sponsor an H-1B. I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, previous experience at a startup, and worked as an SAP HR (HCM) consultant before coming to the US. I'm open to software, data, cyber, cloud, or SAP-related roles, but I'm not sure how to approach companies for sponsorship while I'm already here. Also, I keep seeing that many Indian professionals seem to secure H-1B sponsorship successfully. Is it mainly because they come through large consulting firms, university programs, networking, or something else? I'd really appreciate any advice from people who have been through this process.

I'm using Microsoft Edge and I had a lot of saved items in Collections. Today I opened Edge and all of my Collections seem to be gone. I knew collections will be expire after the next update but is there any way to recover them.

Computer engineer on H-2B wants to transfer to E-2 Visa

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the US on an H-2B visa and just got my SSN. My absolute priority is finding a viable pathway to stay in the US long-term, but I am hitting a major crossroads. While I can technically apply for an H-2B extension, I honestly do not want to continue working in seasonal, non-tech roles.

On the flip side, finding an H-1B sponsor feels like an uphill battle—before coming to the US, I consistently applied to countless software engineering roles from abroad and received nothing but rejections. Because of this, I am highly motivated to transition to an E-2 Investor Visa, but I have limited upfront capital. I plan to secure a personal loan either from my home country (Turkey) or explore financing options here in the US once I build some credit.

I am currently trying to choose between two completely different paths. On one hand, I am leaning heavily toward a Box Truck / Logistics business, as I’ve researched that it’s possible to get started with around $45,000 in capital. It offers fast cash flow, though I’m aware of the high operational costs and the fact that I must legally manage the business. On the other hand, since I am a Computer Engineer, I could technically launch a Cybersecurity or IT Automation consulting agency. To be honest, I am not very keen on going down the tech route right now, but given my degree, I'm wondering if it's worth trying or if it's even feasible to hit the E-2 "substantial investment" threshold with such a lean business model.

As a side note, being here, I see an immense number of Indian and Latino expats who manage to secure residency and long-term status. It makes me wonder about the dynamics of the US tech and business ecosystem are they heavily leveraging tight-knit community networks for H-1B sponsorships, or are there specific pathways I'm missing? Given my tech background, limited capital, and the absolute need to avoid a failing business so I can maintain legal status, what would you recommend as the best, safest business to start?

Appreciate any insights, advice, or reality checks!

1.5 months into Amazon → eBay dropshipping, only 6 sales — product research advice?

Started Amazon to eBay dropshipping 1.5 months ago. Only got 6 sales so far and margins are terrible after fees. Biggest issue is finding profitable products with enough demand.

For people doing this successfully:

How do you find products?

What margins do you target?

Any tools or methods you recommend?

Would appreciate real advice.

7-month stay in the US: eSIM before arrival vs. buying at destination?

I'm heading to the US for a 7-month seasonal job. I have a phone with eSIM support. What’s the most efficient way to get connected?

Option A: Get a temporary eSIM (like Airalo or Tello) before I land to handle Uber/maps/logistics for the first few days, then order a permanent plan to my address.

Option B: Wait and buy everything at the airport (ORD) or a local store.

Option C: Is there a better "all-in-one" 7-month solution?

I'm looking for the best balance between cost and having data the moment I land. Any advice? Thanks!

oredering oral min without prescription in US

I’m moving to the US soon and currently using oral minoxidil 2.5mg. I saw it’s available on Amazon Pharmacy, but it requires a prescription.

What’s the easiest way people usually get a prescription for oral min in the US? Are there any legit online telehealth services or simple ways to get it prescribed without already having a US doctor?
