Hi there, as. the title says, I'm looking for a brewery, gastropub or casual restaurant with a private room / area to hold a 50th birthday party for 30-50 people. Not looking for a sit down dinner, something more casual. Am I missing anything, especially in Yonkers, Riverdale or near Woodlawn? So far I'm looking into:

Simple Motive; Captain Lawrence; Brazen Fox; Wolf and Warrior; Pete's Saloon; Downey's (in Riverdale) and Rory Dolan's.

We’re staying in Villas and on our first day here, after swimming in the bay, one kid and one adult seemed to be pretty stung up. Are those sea nettles? Is the bay actually unswimmable? Should we just drive to the ocean beaches at Cape May? Are we stupid not to realize the bay would not be good for swimming or is sort of a scam not to disclose this?

After seeing tons of clips of Aries Spears' crowd work in my social feeds, I was inspired to buy a ticket to his show yesterday in Nyack, NY. While his clips seemed somewhat mean spirited at times, it also seemed like that was buyer beware and people would know what they were in for. Overall, Spears seemed intelligent and quick witted and somebody worth checking out.

Boy was I wrong. I wondered going into the show whether his prepared material would stand up and my question was answered within the first 5 minutes. Holy shit was he terrible. Beyond hacky, the material would have been ancient 30 years ago. Unfunny jokes about going to get a prostate exam and how heinous it was because of the 'gay' aspect. Proclaiming how he's a red meating eating American man who loves pussy so much (even when it 'smells a little bad') and how 'transgenders' will never be real women and how he would never be fooled by it. Name checking Dave Chappelle's "brilliant" Netflix special for the same reasons.

Mentioning how he loves summer because he gets to watch teenagers with their asses hanging out. Ridiculously asserting how only white teens are allowed to show their asses and how Black parents would never allow that.

Talking about how fun it is to be able to say the word 'retarded' or 'faggot' on stage. Doing 'retarded' faces. Making fun of deaf people.

The list goes on and on. To be 100% clear, I wasn't offended because he was making fun of various groups, I was offended because there wasn't an ounce of intelligence or insight that he brought to these tired bits. He, like so many other dipshit comics who complain about 'cancel culture' seems obsessed with the concept of having their voices stifled. What he (like so many others) don't get is that when you're unfunny and mean spirited, there's no leeway or slack. If you're FUNNY, if you say something new or intelligent, people can go with the flow. It's the whole point of comedy. Be funny, and people can suspend their normal approach to language. Get on a soapbox and say shit that's not funny, and just makes you sound like a homophobic, ignorant idiot, and you SHOULD be cancelled. Not for "PC" reasons but for comedy reasons.

To be fair, he got a very good crowd reaction - it seems like about 60% of the people were totally behind him. It was almost impossible not to feel that the crowd were a bunch of low IQ morons for laughing along. The material was so basic, so boring, so hacky, you had to be a fool for finding it enjoyable. I did look around and see a lot of people who were not laughing at all and seemed to feel like I did - lots of stony faced older African Americans in my section.

What a weird and disappointing evening.

Serious question. If you don't want to accept the changes I made, why would you not strike or revert those changes, instead of just including a side comment saying "Reject changes". You've now made life twice as hard not just for me, but for both of the commercial teams trying to review the redlines. Even if I'm willing to revert back to your original language, it optically appears as if I'm making more redlines, rather than accepting your point; and it's confusing for the teams who won't understand why the edits I'm now making are for the benefit of the other side. This is especially true when your mark-up is a farkakte mix of actual edits to the language and these kinds of side comments.

I'm sure you also realize that you're clearly implying that your time is worth more than mine. Even if the negotiation is based on my client being the service provider and more willing to accept your changes, that should be addressed in the substance of the change, not the manner in which it is accomplished. You're automatically annoying me and making me want to be less accommodating than I might be. It's a lot easier to not make YOUR changes for you, than to make them. If you made the actual change yourself, it would be a lot easier for me to accept them rather than to reject them again.

So, for you, on this beautiful Sunday morning, I say, eat a bag of dicks.

If anyone has a GA (or 2) for either Barclays or MSG, I’ve been looking. I think my limit is about $550 per ticket but I don’t have any strong feelings about needing to pay face value so if you wanna make some money, I got no problems with that.

There’s the realistic choices of who can actually sing and might take the gig and the unrealistic choices of someone that might be amazing but would never do it (or wouldn’t be asked).
