Do you think Paul was possibly ( and maybe subconsciously) trying to make a Lennon-esque remark when he said ‘drag, isn’t it’ after John was killed?

Sorry I know this comment has been talked about a million times and I don’t have any issue with what Paul said. He was obviously very shaken by the news and it’s the most uneasy I’ve ever seen him getting interviewed. I don’t get when people have a go at him for how he reacted.

I also know Paul has talked about it many times and said he meant it was a drag in the biggest sense of the worse. But tbh the way he says it just seems more casual like he was trying to make a joke/sarcastic remark to me. Which is totally fine - people deal with traumatic events in different ways and often with dark humour.

But I was just thinking it sounds more like something I could imagine John saying in such a situation, do any of you also see this?

Maybe im just looking into it too much but I would imagine Paul was just think about John that entire day, maybe listening to John’s music and subconsciously he said that as a sort of nod to John.

Do you think Im crackers or there could be any truth to it?

Manatsu enjoyed her first total solar eclipse today! Shortly before we also spotted some graffiti that displayed her sassiness well

Given the backlash to the 2026 regulations, what other examples do you remember of rule changes being very unpopular in f1, that were then reversed/changed?

The one that I remember most is when they changed qualifying in 2016, it was so hated it only lasted one race weekend at the Australian GP. This was the new format:

Q1 (16 minutes): After 7 minutes, the slowest driver was eliminated; the slowest car was then knocked out every 90 seconds until the end, eliminating 7 drivers total.
Q2 (15 minutes): After 6 minutes, the slowest driver was eliminated, followed by another knockout every 90 seconds, eliminating 7 drivers and leaving 8 for Q3.
Q3 (14 minutes): After 5 minutes, the slowest driver was eliminated, then every 90 seconds until just 2 drivers were left to fight for pole in the final 90 seconds.

But it was just a disaster at the very first weekend, they expected it to be more exciting with the new knockout style and with only 2 drivers left in the battle for pole at the very end. But this was the result:

Just fast forward towards the end of q3, it had the complete opposite effect they wanted!

Looking for a way to reliably launch with 2 apps in split screen, e.g. Waze and Spotify. Ideally, I'd also like to do this with buttons on my steering wheel, i.e. press a button and it launches waze and spotify into split screen

Tl;dr: have you been able to launch 2 apps into split screen automatically every time you get into your car? And if so, how?

Currently with my head unit, I use it with waze and spotify in split screen most of the time. I've tried many launchers, but as my unit doesn't support pip, none of them have a UI/display showing everything I want.

So now to do this, I am having to manually start split screen mode and drag the apps I want etc, it's very fiddly and annoying to have to do this all the time. So, to solve this, I want to do 2 things:

  1. Have waze and spotify automatically launch into split screen every time I get into my car.

To do this, I have tried using tasker, but nothing seems to work. The issue is knowing what to use as a 'trigger', i've tried stuff like BT connection, screen on, but none of them seem to work reliably. Sometimes itll run the profile, sometimes not.

I did also try using something in logcat to be a trigger, but haven't been able to have any success there either.

So just wondering if anyone has done this, and if so, how? Did you use tasker? What did you use as the trigger?

  1. I also want to remap some steering wheel buttons I never use so that, when pressed, it will do the same thing, but different buttons for different apps. So for example if I press one button it launches waze/spotify, another could be waze/youtube (both in split screen), or another could just launch waze in full screen mode.

Is this something any of you have ever done, and if so, how?

When fiddling with the settings on my unit, it seems like I maybe cant even remap the buttons at all. When i go into the steering wheel app and try to remap, nothing happens at all - but the steering wheel buttons do work.

So just wondering if anyone could provide any advice on if this is possible to do and how. Thanks.

Have you come across people saying ‘can’t be asked’ rather than ‘can’t be arsed’?

I just saw another post (in this subreddit actually) of someone saying this. And while it could be a typo, I remember my ex used to say this. I did try to politely say I think it’s ’can’t be arsed’ but she said no I was wrong and continued saying can’t be asked in messages to me. It was mildly irritating 😂

So I’m just wondering, are there many other people who say this? Are you one of them? If so, why?

What do you wish was more common, or that we did better in the UK? For me it’s spa

Now firstly of course I know spas exist here. But I find they’re just so uncommon, expensive and frankly not very nice compared to what I’ve experienced elsewhere.

I’ve lived in South Korea and my wife is from Japan, and so I experienced the spa culture in both countries, which is very similar. In Japan you get Onsens or Sentos, and in Korea you get Jjimjilbangs. To try and keep it short ill just give an example of one that I used to use frequently which was spa land in Busan https://maps.app.goo.gl/QgJnT3QgZy3fvFPp8?g\_st=ic

This is more of the more expensive ones at £15 entry. This one is in a huge modern shopping centre. Inside it, there is:
- a bath / hot pool area. There is a separate area for men and women, and this area is fully nude. It has many different types of baths of different temperatures, levels of salt etc.
- many different types of saunas and steam rooms
- outside hot pools / foot baths
- ‘relaxation rooms’ - basically a room filled with super comfortable massage chairs with a tv attached to each one
- cafe / restaurant selling actually nice food (that also isn’t stupidly expensive).

Probably some other areas too I can’t remember. That is a more fancy jjimjilbang, but even the most basic ones I went to were still very nice with multiple hot pools, sauna, small relaxation area etc.

I just wish this kind of thing was more part of the uk. They’re just so common over there, always so clean, relaxing and cheap. I mean that one I posted was one of the nicer ones at £15. You find lots that are like £5.

But here in the uk spas aren’t that common, or they’re tiny with hardly anything (I see things like a room with a hot tub and a tiny sauna being called a ‘spa’ in the uk) and they’re just expensive and so not something you can afford to do multiple times every week.

I guess what it boils down to is I just really want to be able to go and sit in a pool with dozens of other naked men every night, is that too much to ask for?
