how can I make instagram carousel with mostly vertical and some horizontal images look cohesive without cropping or ugly borders?

I have 19 professional photographs of artworks from an exhibition.

The photographer deliveredmost in 2:3 portrait (3149×4724) but some of them in 3:2 landscape (4724×3149).

I need to post at least 15 of them as one Instagram carousel without cropping any of the artwork photographs.

I've tried placing the landscape images on a 2:3 canvas with a white-colored background, but the result looks visually awkward once uploaded to Instagram. You can see in the video how it looks with a white background. I also tried black, but neither works well.

I considered leaving the horizontal ones out and posting them separately, but that feels like a bad idea since they're all from the same exhibition.

What would be the professional workflow for making this kind of mixed-orientation carousel look cohesive without cropping the photographs or using obvious borders?

I've even considered using AI to extend the top and bottom of the horizontal images, but I'm not sure if that's the best approach. Please give me your ideas and recommendations.

What kind of craniofacial changes are realistically possible through orthotropics in adults around 30?

I'm 29 and have been trying to understand what kind of structural changes are realistically possible through orthotropics/mewing after the main period of facial growth.

I previously tried mewing for a while but eventually stopped because I wasn't sure whether I was doing it correctly or whether I could realistically expect noticeable changes at my age.

More recently, I've become interested in this because my dentist recommended expanding my lower dental arch to address crowding, and there are also practitioners in my area who combine expansion with myofunctional therapy. This made me want to understand the distinction between conventional orthodontic approaches and the principles discussed in this community.

What I'm particularly interested in is what can realistically happen to the jaws, dental arches and overall lower-third development in an adult around 29–30 through orthotropics, proper oral posture, chewing and/or expansion devices.

For example, can meaningful changes in chin projection or overall lower-third development still occur at this age, or are adult changes mainly limited to dental/alveolar changes and posture? And how much does myofunctional therapy contribute compared with simply developing proper tongue posture and chewing habits?

I'm not asking anyone to assess my own face or tell me what treatment I should have. I'm trying to understand the potential and limitations of orthotropics in adults before deciding which approach makes sense for me.

I'd particularly appreciate experiences or before/after cases from people who started around their late 20s or 30s.

Last questions before my ICL surgery

Hello!

I'm 29, around -4.25 myopic in both eyes, with mild astigmatism (-0.25/-0.75). I'm tired of glasses and often skip them altogether.

After 3 months of research and consultations, I've decided on ICL. I have some dry eye (from past contact lens misuse and sleep issues), so I ruled out laser/SMILE fearing it'd worsen the dryness, narrowing it down to ICL or PRK. I found a surgeon with 25+ years of experience and several published papers on ICL and Lasik (including one comparing dry eye outcomes between them). He also performed lasik and ICL to various elite athletes. He recommended ICL given my dry eye, and I trust him.

The problem: my surgery is booked for August 17-18, but on August 29 I have to move abroad to a different city for 3 months — new apartment, art shows to organize, and my software engineering job, all starting just 2 weeks post-op. If I postpone, I'd have to wait until November/December.

My questions:

  • How long until normal life resumes post-surgery?
  • How soon can I work 6-8hrs/day on computers?
  • Is light sensitivity/halos temporary or permanent? I have blue eyes so, is light sensitivity more prone to happen in blue eyes?
  • With my mild astigmatism, is worthy going for a toric ICL? they havent specified me if they plan to correct the astigmatism or not
  • Can I do climbing, cliff jumping, jiujitsu, wrestling, kickboxing afterward?
  • Will I always feel "something in my eye," or does that fade completely?
  • Do halos/rings truly disappear, or can they stay bothersome long-term?
  • Can dry eyes worsen with ICL, or is that just temporary (unlike laser)?
  • Can my eyes look different from outside after surgery permanently (less shine/white, iris changes)?

I'm 95% sure I'll go through with it, but the tight 10-day recovery window before relocating has me considering waiting until November instead — though seeing clearly for my art exhibitions would be great since I barely use glasses now.

Has paying for collabs ever been worth it?

I've been thinking about paying for a collab with a producer I like. He says charges 40dollars for a beat collab.

Does it actually help you build real relationships and opportunities, or do people just see you as another customer they'll keep charging?

At first thought I wouldn´t do it, but I am wondering if perhaps thats how normally goes at the beginning, especially with american producers. The problem of paying is that it will be hard to know if he liked my sound or he just did a quick job to get the money.

If you've paid for collabs before, did it lead to genuine connections or was it just a one-off transaction? How could I negotiate with the producer to make it free of charge?

I'd love to hear real experiences.

Sinceramente tampoco he obtenido respuestas por alli.

Found a startup app that uses genomics to suggest healthier habits

Its a spanish startup, called EternaDX.

I am a software developer specialising in mobile app development with a background in biology/psychology and I am going to apply for an internship with them.

I am wondering if somebody knows about this platform (their app is literally called eternadx) or any similar one that takes a genetic test off you to then suggest health improvements based on the results and the info you provide to the app. It seems pretty serious, like they are based on serious scientific and medical research, but they also seem to be using AI to analyse the data which I find a bit more sus. They say to give you your current rate of aging and your metabolic and hormonal health and suggest exercise, diet, sleep, supplements, medication, etc changes to improve your rate of aging and health based on your genetic and epigenetic make up.

I am curious to know how trustworthy the results are and if somebody has had any experience with this platform or any similar one.

I will probably apply either way for the internship, what I am really doubting is if I should try the app and take the tests for myself or not.

How to land an internship as a private bootcamp student?

I'm about to finish a two-year mobile development program focused on Flutter, Kotlin and iOS (I also completed the 42 School Piscine where I learned C language and linux shell).

I've been targeting internships in the art-tech sector because of my background in both software and the arts (worked as an art manager organizing art shows for a few years + worked with inventory software for managing art databases), but I've already contacted almost every art-tech company I could find in Spain (my school requires the internship to be with a company that has a legal presence in Spain). One company signed me in, but shortly after due to logistics the internship had to be postponed.

At this point I'm torn between two options:

  1. Broaden my search and apply to any company doing mobile development in Spain.
  2. Keep targeting art-tech companies internationally and try to find a way to make the internship compatible with my school's requirements.

Which approach would you take? Has anyone been in a similar situation? What platforms, directories and communities are best to find startups filtered by sector or by location?

Also open to specific company/startup recommendations if you know of any art-tech or music-tech shops doing internships.

Best places to discover early-stage startups? I will not promote

Hi everyone,

I'm a mobile developer (Flutter, Kotlin, iOS and C) looking for an internship.

My ideal fit would be an art-tech or music-tech startup anywhere in the world, since I have a background in the arts as well as software development.

However, because of how my internship is set up, I'm also very interested in Spanish startups of any kind, as they're much easier for me to join.

So I'm wondering:

  • Where do you usually discover early-stage art-tech or music-tech startups?
  • And where do you find interesting Spanish startups building mobile or software products, regardless of the industry?

I've already searched Google, LinkedIn and used AI for deep research, but I feel I'm missing many smaller companies.

Any platforms, communities or directories you'd recommend?

Thanks!

Have I been too selective with my internship search?

I'm about to finish a two-year mobile development program in Spain focused on Flutter, Kotlin and iOS (I also completed the 42 School Piscine where I learned C language and linux shell).

For the past few months I've focused almost exclusively on finding internships in art-tech and music-tech — I have some background in the art world, including exposure to cultural collection management software, so I felt I could bring more than just programming skills there.

The problem is Spain has very few companies or startups in these spaces. I've contacted almost every one I could find, and the only one that showed real interest backed out due to logistics. My school also requires a company with legal presence in Spain, which narrows things further.

Would you:

  • broaden the search to any mobile dev company in Spain regardless of the sector, or
  • keep pursuing companies/startups that match my interests outside of Spain, even if it means having to find a way with my school so they let me do it remote with a foreign company.

Open to recommendations too — art-tech or music-tech startups in Europe, remote-friendly or not. Also curious if there are good platforms/directories for finding startups by sector or by location — I've been searching mostly manually so far.

I have tried many things but to be honest havent really found the way. I know its probably some strong saturation or even crunch distortion, but genuenily I havent found the way. the type of 808 used may also influence.

the producer sayda always nails this type of distortion, but there are many others in the ug nailing this sound. havent found no tutorials nor tips for it.

here is another example even more exaggerated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNqYnY8UM8A&list=RDqNqYnY8UM8A&start_radio=1
