I'm a new investor and bought into refinery stocks on the PSX, a sector I now realize is extremely volatile. My long-term plan is to stay invested, and my position has just moved into the green. Should I take the profit and exit, or hold on? I'd also like to move that money into other stocks I plan to keep long term. I'd appreciate guidance from experienced investors, specially on how you handle the dividend timing and the sector's swings.

Used to hear about tanker and bike accidents but today it hit too close to home; my cousin got into an accident with a tanker yesterday and ltr broke his tang ki haddi!!! He's such a hardworking kid and in so much pain. Hate seeing his family go through something like this, and the fact that they're also thankful baray nuksaan se bach gaye. He'd literally just started making money, and now he's bedridden for months. They've confiscated the tanker, but I know it'll be back on the road like nothing happened, with zero repercussions for the driver. Kia fuzool mulk hai yaar. Just wanted to vent...

Someone very close to me, a father figure, indirectly asked me to invest in his cattle business. This is his second year in it, and in the first year he barely broke even. I showed interest in putting money into a few animals to see if they'd sell at a profit, but he told me he was still finding his footing and that I should wait. That "next time" is now, but I'm scared my hard-earned money might go down the drain.

I have no doubt about his hard work, honesty, or business sense, but the truth is, he's getting older and is still learning this field himself. My investment would help him keep things going, and he's promised me a profit too.

For context, I was planning to put in that money into a savings account and treating it as my emergency fund.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should I invest a smaller amount to start or is there a better way to support him without risking too much? Would appreciate any perspective.

Heading to Ubud soon for 5 days and looking for a 3-4 star stay for 2 people. Ideally centrally located, or within a 10-15 minute walk from the center. Budget-friendly with comfortable rooms, and clean, well-maintained bathrooms and pool. I've seen a few Agoda listings with maintenance complaints, so that's a priority.

Been trying to sell DCR since the past 2 days and the app says order successfully received but that's it. I still see my holdings and there's no price change in my cash. Why can't I sell it? No buyers?
