Contract production capacity

I heard (from the q2 report) that they drone cells are sold out through 2027, and are looking for contract manufacturing partners. AMPX is already doing that. Has anyone heard indications that they are near to securing a partner, and what that capacity might be?

Anyone know Amprius' total production capacity?

So 2Gwh (which is what AMPX is saying they can produce with the current contracts) is equivalent to 4.4M 450wh batteries. Assuming that AMPX revenue for the year is $140M, that puts the cost at something like $31.80/cell. Is that right? Does that make sense? I'm trying to model their revenue out a bit.

Also, SESai (another very high density battery manufacturer) has 1M battery production already booked out through 2027. They say they are also looking for contract manufacturing capacity. I wonder if this will have any impact on competition for contract manufacturing, and drive up costs. Thoughts?

Car Pre Purchase Inspection companies

I have my eyes on a car thats located far from where I live. I've been advised to get it inspected because it's been in an accident. So how does one find an inspector? Do I just call an auto shop nearby the car?

Warning: To all those that are asking if they pass

This sub can be really hard on your psyche. Even with the kindest intention, a comment can kick off some really bad headspace events. Like, if you think you pass, and walk around in the world into thinking you do, and then find out that you really don't...that can be a big blow to one's self image.

So go slow.

And to commenters, please...be kind. We're all living in a world that, for the most part, is hostile to us, and we need each other, no matter what we look like.

Just got my dashcam installed and this is what I captured in the rear view cam

Truck and car were arguing over a merge a mile back. Motorcycle is incidental.

Edit...and for those that think I'm camping. You have no idea what's in front of me. Traffic was quite heavy and no where to go for anyone. For those in the know, this is east bound on I84 just after the 684 merge into CT.

Edit#2. For those that want the "front" view", this cam allows me to save a clip, and I did. It does, however overwrite the sim card with fresh vid over time, and in this case, it did. I had no idea just posting a clip of something that I thought was interesting would require me to PROVE that I wasn't left lane camping. LOL.

This is taken from a Viofo A229 two channel cam with the settings on high res. The only complaint I have is that in the intense summer heat, it's overheated a few times and shut down. That said, I would recommend this camera without reservation. It does come with a polarizing filter for the front cam but not the back.

Just a reminder...

  • July 14, 2025...AMPX was trading at $6.42
  • Three months later it hit $16.
  • Then three months later it was back down to $7.71
  • Then one month later it was back up to $14.86
  • Then 15 days later it was back down to $9.52
  • Then (roughly) 15 days later it was back up to$19.52
  • Then 15 days later it was back down to $14.81
  • Then 22 days later it was back up to $22.80
  • Then 31 days later it was back down to $15.80
  • Then 12 days later it was back up to $24.23
  • Then 40 days (today) later it was down to $11.02

What do you see in this information?

Edit: I see that it went from $6.42 to $11.02 in a year, and that's a heck of a return. Trading this is bad for your health. Owning it long term is the only way.

Guy at the driving range at Sterling Farms

Hey buddy. I'm the woman you offered some unsolicited advice to after I finished my bucket of balls. I was nice to you because I didn't want to create a scene. Giving someone "pointers", without being asked for them, is rude. You sat there and gave your verbal evaluation of many of my shots, and I was really tolerant of them. When I finished up, I listened to you because I am not an aggressive, in your face person. So here's what I really wanted to say to you.

Do yourself and every women golfer a favor. Sit down, wait your turn and shut up.

I'm so glad I ordered one

After watching these vids and reading the stories, I'm absolutely certain one day it is going to save me a ton of money and aggravation.

Thanks all for posting your vids.

Driving range question

How many balls should I hit in a range session? I'm a returning golfer after years of neglect, and I want to make the most of the range. (over 60f btw...)I want to hit the range three times a week and I don't think I can hit a large bucket of balls. Thoughts?

Edit: Thank you everyone who replied. Some great ideas there.

Buying a car that's out of town, I came across one, with what I think is damage. Any thoughts on what might have caused it, and would it be expensive to fix?

Im looking at the drivers side of the hatch area along the edge. What do you think it is?

Weird question: I dress totally the same every day in the winter. Jeans (black or blue) and long sleeve tees and fleece. I live where it gets pretty cold, and I'm just not into making a big effort anymore.

Then comes spring and summer. And dresses. And I feel kind of odd going more "exposed" if you will. Like people are thinking a lot more about how I look. And I do know that people aren't actually thinking any more about how I look than normal, but I feel kind of weird.

Am I overthinking it?

2014XC70 T6 here with the stupid maintenance reminder message on the display. How the eff do you reset it? I've checked out a few videos on YTube, but none seem to work. Whats the secret sauce?

I'm looking and looking, and I rarely see a car (F type) close to me, Most are at least a days driving distance. How the heck do you check out a car in person if you can't get to it? I'm thinking I may have to buy one sight unseen, and either fly to drive it home or have it shipped. Ugh!
