Customer Scam

Just got hit with this one the other night. Waited to pick up food and it was a pretty big order so I knew there might be some waiting time. I was eventually told by an employee there was nothing there to pick up, and no order for that name in line to be made.

I contacted the customer to see if they had received or cancelled their order. They left me on "read" with no response.

Eventually I had to cancel on my end as "already picked up by another driver."

Next day I get an email that I've been "reported". Told that I had picked up and order, not marked it as picked up, and had not delivered it. Basically I was being accused of theft.

I had made screen caps of my attempts to contact the customer, and had given them the name of the employee that saw me leave empty handed.

This was how the scam works.

Customer makes an order, gets there before the driver and picks it up themselves. Make sure the place is busy so no one asks to see your phone. Takes it home, eats free. Then when the actual driver shows up and can't find the food, accuse them of theft and get a refund! 😡

We figured this out a different employee handed off the food and had logged that it was picked up and so it was gone and out of the system when I got there. The guy I dealt with found out the order had actually HAD gone out. No one checked their phone when the person picked it up to see if they were a legit driver.

This is why you'll always get cold Taco Bell from Uber eats...

The way they let the bags sit there getting cold, waiting for delivery to be picked up is criminal. I've picked up orders and felt an ice cold bag. And they'll refused to remake the food..

This Guy..

Let's insist on charging our Rivian 100% when two out of the four chargers are out of order and people are waiting. When asked politely how much after 80% he was planning to charge, he says "To a hundred". and rolls up his window.

That and the shit parking job clearly indicates zero fucks given. People are great.

Got pulled over for open container.....Of cat food!

I've got this sixtyish year-old single neighbor lady across the street from me that wants to insert herself into everyone's business 24 seven. You know they type.

A friend of mine was on vacation for a month and I volunteer to stop by his house once a day to feed his outside stray cat. You can't actually pet the cat, but it does sleep on his porch and expects food and water. His place is right on my way to work.

After a couple days of getting his keys out, going in his house, getting a scoop of food out of the bag and then locking up again, I decide I can streamline this process.

I take the bag of cat food back to my place. In the morning I scoop a red solo plastic cup full of food on my way out the door and put it in my cup holder. Now I can drive up, jump out, reach up onto the porch and dump the cat food cup, check the water and I'm gone in 60 seconds. Perfect!

This works fine...for about two weeks. One morning as I'm stepping out of my place I notice a sheriff's car parked up the block. I've got nothing to hide or worry about so I didn't really think too much of it.

I drove past him and turned the corner. Next thing I know he's behind me lighting me up and pulling me. The very first thing out of his mouth is "Hi there. Have you had anything to drink this morning?"

I'm already gathering up my license, registration, and opening the app to show my proof of insurance because I know the routine. Looking a little surprised, I say "no".

He motions towards the center console and says what do you have in the red solo cup? For a second there, I'm thinking, what red solo cup? Oh the cat food cup! I pick it up and shake it "cat food" he looks completely confused by this. I tell him I have to feed my friends cat on the way to work and this is the easiest way to do it. Just dump it in a bowl.

He kind of chuckles a little bit takes my license and registration information back to his car and says "I'll be back in a second." After presumably running all my stuff, he comes back and laughs and says "Ha ha,yeah sorry we got an anonymous call that you were leaving the house every morning with an alcoholic drink in your hand." He apologies again, give me his business card in case I had to show the boss why I was late to work, told me to have a nice day and I went on my way.

I just KNEW this was because of the lady across the street! So next day I walk out start my car. I can see her standing on her porch, doing the looking, but trying look like shes not looking.

I come out with the bag of cat food and look her way and yell "Good morning neighbor!" Making sure I was facing her house, with a bag of cat food in one hand and the red cup in my hand, I make a big exaggerate scoop out of the bag with a cup and hold it in the air. Then I set the cat food down in front of my door and driveway..

And that's how I got pulled over for open container of cat food.

Walmart Removed the Trash Cans.

The electrify America charging stations at Walmart are kind of my go to just because it's close to my house. Normally I plug-in, go into the Walmart grab a snack and throw the trash in the can before I unplug.

The charging station is located about as far across the parking lot as you can get from the front door. I don't mind the walk, not a big deal.

There (were) four trash can close, one at every cart return rack in the lot. Apparently people living in their cars and what not and I don't know maybe even local people that don't want to pay trash service have been filling up the trash cans, so Walmart removed them. All of them!

They have outside trashcan near each entry door now.

Has anyone else noticed this in their area or is it just around here?

Why Things Break..

As I pull into the lot I see a guy unplug his car and angrily throw the plug into the bark dust on the ground. Then he moves into the next spot and starts to plug in.

I back in and make like I didn't see him just see what he did. I pick up the plug and look over and say "Wow, this is why they're always fixing these things. Someone didn't even both hanging the thing up!" (I blew the bark dust out of it, plugged it into my car and it started working perfectly fine btw).

He says "Oh yeah well it wasn't working and I just didn't get the chance to plug it in yet and I saw you coming in and didn't want you to take this spot."

Great guy right? I overhear him on the phone talking to EA and it turned out it had nothing to do with the charger. His card didn't have enough on it to be pre-authorized for the reload.

That's fine, just take it out on the equipment we ALL need to use, right?
🤷‍♂️😡

"It's gonna ask you. question...."

...as they direct you to a POS screen with tip options. I hate this vague, tip begging BS.

It's already read my card and authorized the total. That's all you need from me. Keep your "questions" to yourself.

Especially aggravating when it happens before I've even been provide with any service or product.
