Need your opinion please

Hi Friends, I need your help for future projects ,
I am wondering if I should make what I call « index kalimbas » like the seeds 20k, with diatonic display and keys in chromatic order ( from bass to a side to high to the other )

Also wondering if some here would be interrested in a « chromatic lap Kalimba » I mean like a Kalimba with bass on the middle and highs on side, but With lots of spacing , so that it has the same display than Kalimba but with a index playing. It’s somewhat like the piano Kalimba I make but with a different display

By the way talking about pianimbas ( piano kalimbas) I am currently trying to make an even bigger one , with 51 non redundant notes ( instead of 47) . I don’t know if it will work though.

Staff to number Kalimba notation converter !

Hi! after many months of work on evenings , i finally released an online converter for music sheets, to help people playing Kalimba without any musical knowledge or little time to spare adapting music sheets to their instruments :)

You can find it on jianpupidoo.com
Basically, you drop a pdf , picture or xml music file , it will directly convert it into jianpu - number notation - then select your Kalimba layout and tuning , hit convert and tadaaam you are left with a playable music sheet for your own instrument . Takes 5 second!
Then you can edit the music sheet , modify notes , remove , change settings ect, and have your music sheet as you want.
There are many options possible .
The music sheets are stores in your private library online , and you can then download the modified sheet et the play along as a learning guide .

This convertor is a clever one it embarks an automatic transposition motor to find the best option to play the music to the fullest, octave transposition, musical phrase récognition , and « fingering laws » to ensure the music is playable for kalimba

So if there are some kalimba players here strugglin with Kalimba adaptation or with music theory , and who don’t want to lose time adapting music sheets, now you have a solution!!!! :)

Jianpupidoo V2 staff to number Kalimba notation is online 🎉

Hi everyone! For those who didn’t follow , i am a Kalimba maker and released back in april Jianpupidoo ( jianpupidoo.com), an online tool that converts sheet music (MusicXML) into number notation (jianpu) adapted to your kalimba. I’ve been working on it a lot lately to improve it and wanted to share what’s new compared to before:

•	converting motor improvements for a conversion more musically accurate , and easier playing

•	One line per hand — a display option that splits the score so each hand gets its own line, instead of Melody x chord séparation . It makes pieces much easier to read and to figure out which thumb plays what! 🤘🏻

•	Repeats: rolled or unrolled — when a piece has repeat barlines, you can now choose how to display them. Rolled shows the repeated section once with the repeat signs (compact, like classic sheet music). Unrolled writes everything out in full, as many times as it’s played (longer, but you just follow along without jumping back). The audio playback follows the repeats faithfully either way — and you’re still only charged for unique measures, never for the repetitions.

•	Playback in your tuning or the original key — during audio playback you can choose between hearing the piece in its original written key (great for staying true to how it was composed) or transposed to your kalimba’s tuning (play-along), so the sound matches your instrument and you can play right along with no offset. This second option is best for learning your piece of you have a non C tone instrument .

•	A tidier library — you can delete scores (with a 30-day trash bin just in case), select several at once to clean up, and there’s an “Open” button to pull a score back up without re-downloading everything. Yes I know , it should have been done in the 1st version but i forgot 💀

•	Help choosing your layout — a little guide that shows which settings match which kalimba brand (Seeds, Hluru, Lingting, Chill Angels, Loop, Gaharu,Poopoopidoo) so you don’t have to guess your model’s technical name.. I also added the layout for the 21/24K seeds and the Hluru34K .

•	Help tags: now a message appears when you touch a toogle . That’s for the lazy ones who won’t read the manual 🤣

•	9 languages now fully supported: French, english, portugese, spanish, russian, indonesian, korean, chinese and japanese. Note that the translations might not be perfect . I only speak 3 among those so I had to use online tools. :/ I am sorry in advance of there are errors

•	A score editor — the big one. After converting a piece, you can now fine-tune it note by note: fix a pitch, shift an octave, add or delete notes, insert a rest, and so on. You can even move notes between your main kalimba and the “missing notes” line. Your edits save automatically and stay in your library, so you can close it, come back later, and continue right where you left off. Just note that the history of your « actions » on the editor is only kept while the navigator is open. If you close it the work will be safe but the history will be gone .

Also added a diagnose tool to help you with issues you might meet , and a page setting option where you can adjust the look of the music sheet ( spacing, measure per line ect)

•	Unlimited access option — for heavy users: unlimited conversions with no credits used, for 6 months or 1 year. Handy and more economical if you convert a lot! No monthly subscriptions -i hate them- so it’s a one time purchase like credits and it stops automatically when the time span passes .

And one thing that’s close to my heart: anyone who buys one of my handmade kalimbas now gets unlimited access for free (6 months or 1 year depending on the model). It’s my way of saying thank you — your trust is what keeps the workshop going, and it means the world to me and my little family.

This is a project I work on in my own time - on evenings when my kids are sleeping- so any feedback or ideas are very welcome. And if you spot a bug, please do tell me 🙏

It’s been a hard road for a non developper , so i Hope you will like this new tool made to allow you spending more time playing instead of transposing which can be a long and painful process 💀
Luv you guys ❤️

What happens to Kalimba keys in humid storage

So I went to a outdoors fair where the weather was HORRIBLE and very humid . I generally store my stocks in individual plastic bags with some silica gel bags inside . I forgot the silica gel in this one , the Kalimba stayed about 2 weeks in here , in humidity
When I removed the Kalimba from the plastic , this was the result , mold over the key which could not be removed ! Even with the best quality keys this can happen.
Don’t Forget to add silica gel pads in your hard cases if you go to a humid place! 🥲
The Kalimba is not broken , but i had to change the keys -_-

Pic 1 in the shade , pic 2 in the light !

I used uv resin , the planet you see is a tiny opal.

It looks bi on the picture but IRL it’s 2cm !

I used the 3D painting effect ( layering ) to obtain the depth

In the last 6 month i was stopped from playing long musical sessions ( i have chronic thumb tendinitis) and i need music for my anxiety so just 5 min a day is not enough , plus i missed playing for my kids to help them sleep ✨

Now I finished this 45k « pianimba » as I call it. It’s a piano Kalimba , meant to be played on a table. It’s such a pleasure to be able to play again , even though i have to relearn everything from scratch …. 🥲😂

I use the 3 middle fingers of the hand to play this big girl ❤️
