Was this character’s name (and possibly his voice) a tribute to the film/TV director David Lynch, who was probably at his creative/popular peak around this time?

In 1992 (circa) I was a 13 year old on a family shopping trip to Gabriel’s. (Greater Pittsburgh area)

Among the irregular socks and off-center printed Gulf War victory t-shirts we found one pair of “Britannia” (presumably trying to cash in on British Knights…um, popularity I guess?) “Inflators” which had an inflatable tongue with a valve like you’d see on a beach ball as pictured (100% trying to fool parents into buying these monstrosities for their kids instead of Reebok Pumps)

We almost died laughing, but we didn’t have a camera on us as that wasn’t the style back then

Can anyone out there confirm that these existed at one time? I’ve been googling for a long time and I’m tired boss.
