What is it like applying for and interviewing for the Ofsted regulatory inspector

Hi, just wondered if anyone has any experience of the application or interview process for the regulatory inspector role with Ofsted? I'm a 30 year old male social worker in the south east with 6 years of social work experience, 4 years in children's services and the last 2 years in adult social care. Prior to that worked in day care centers for 7 years.

Anyone have any experience of the job itself or working for Ofsted?

Is the fast stream an appropriate option for a 30 year old looking to change careers?

Hi all, I'm a 30 year old male in Brighton with 6 years social work experience looking to change careers. Is the fast stream an appropriate option in this situation or is it more set up for recent graduates? I have a 2:2.

Should I have money in a cash ISA with 4.56% APR? Or VRWP?

Im 30m, have £10k currently in a cash ISA through trading 212 (4.56% APR), £2k in VRWP in a S&S ISA and £300 fun money in individual stocks. Should I transfer some or all of my £10k from my cash ISA into VRWP? The plan would be to leave it there for a while and not move it.

Not sure whether guaranteed interest or cash ISA is better than taking the low risk of putting all my savings into VRWP

Just getting into S&S ISA for first time

Hi all,

Recently checked my savings account to realise I've been getting minimal APR for a while now 😕.

Yesterday opened an account with trading 212 and put most of my savings (£11k) into a cash ISA and a combination of £400 birthday money from my girlfriend and another £700 of my savings into a stocks and shares ISA. I've put £1000 of this £1100 into a VWRP and want to put the remaining £100 into an individual stock to best learn how stocks and shares actually work - not absolutely fussed about making loads of money just mindful that having £100 as a chance to learn a bit about markets might be fun!

How best to choose which individual stock to invest in? I've had a bit of a look at Nvidia stock and heard they're on the up because of AI but not sure whether investing now would be silly given it's at a high? Or to invest in another industry that generally trends up but is experiencing a bit of a lull at the moment like oil?

Understanding the different campaign map levels

So I'm aware in this game rather than just having one grand campaign map, there's going to be campaigns you can play at different levels like systems etc and that finishing each campaign at this level then has an impact on an overall galaxy map. Not sure I got the details 100% correct but that's my understanding in broad strokes.

What I wanted to know is if I do a campaign let's say as imperial guard and this then updates the galaxy map, can my next campaign be as the orks and represent a different conflict in a different area of the galaxy and this then impact my same galaxy state? Or would each "grand campaign" galaxy state be unique to each faction run?

Also then wondering how it's going to work in future when they then include different factions like Tyranids in dlc. Would they just be added to your campaign galaxy state?

I saw in a video somewhere saying about the campaign starting in Armageddon?

Mindful that there's not loads of information out about this game yet so not sure if someone else can clarify the above and has a better understanding of the campaign map levels!

Buying Cuba as USA

Is there a way as USA to guarantee that the cubs journal entry results in being able to buy it as USA. I know that having good relations with Cuba helps and I often form a trade league and put the embassy in Cuba as well as I think that's a factor but even with this, most games I play as USA cubas journal entry for me to purchase them just doesn't seem to trigger!

What date in history was most pivotal?

Bit of a hypothetical exercise for you. You can pick one date in history and on that date, instead of what happened historically, nothing of any note happens instead. Ie. If you choose 9/11/2001, the twin towers attack doesn't happen on that date. The aim is to think what date would have the most impact on history if nothing happened on that date instead.

As a qualifier of this, just because something doesn't happen on that date doesn't mean it won't happen at all IE. In the 9/11 example it's probably quite likely that Al-Qaeda and Bin laden are still motivated and planning to do the attack and just do the attack the next day or a few days later.

When I say nothing happens, people carry on their lives as normal and nothing of any significance happens

Dyre the stranger Norse Pecheneg steppe nomad

Just wondered if anyone has played a campaign starting as Dyre the stranger where the goal is to conquer the pechenegs to the south (after they've taken over from the Magyars when they invade Hungary), form a norse-pecheneg steppe hybrid culture then become nomadic?

I really like the idea of a viking/steppe hybrid game that makes use of both the rivers and steppes of the Ukrainian Steppelands and Volga, Danube, Dnieper etc for a high mobility raiding based game. Horse archers disembarking from Viking longships backed up by Huscarls and viking raiders just goes hard! And the access to the black sea and Caspian for raiding targets is great!

Should I stay Asatru? What should I keep from each culture when hybridising?

Where should I keep my capital? Id need to move it into Pecheneg lands to get the decision to become nomadic but I could move it back to Kyiv afterwards?

I just love the idea of an eastern European viking horseback society that makes use of the rivers and coastlines around there while also using horse archers while keeping a distinctive Norse/viking theme

Why is the Great Game dependent on starting options?

I don't understand why the great game content is only available if you choose it at game start? No other unique country content is treated the same and it feels weird that this specific content is silo'd off like this. It also means that unless you choose to start as one of the bookmarked countries, this is then left out of the game so you can't interact with it IE as someone like France or Germany if your trying to get involved.

Is there anyway to colonise Patagonia as non Argentina/Chile

As in the question, I'd quite like to colonise Patagonia and the tierra del fuego as the UK. Is there anyway that I can colonise it as it's claimed by Argentina and Chile.

If not able to colonise it directly, is there a way for me to get it without having to wait for Argentina or Chile to colonise and conquering it from them? Could I provoke a native uprising against their colonisation efforts, support it to win then defeat the native state? Would that work or be feasible?

Career change from social worker - suitable roles?

Hi, I've been practicing as a social worker the past 5 years and am considering a career change to the civil services. What grade would be appropriate to look at applying for and what sort of civil service fields would my experiences be most suited to?

I hold a MSc(Hons) in Social work and have worked in a variety of social work roles within children's services (with adolescents, primarily those experiencing exploitation) and for the past year and a half within a community adult social care team.
