Seeking input on initial(rough) floorplan/layout

I am starting a project for our 32' CE300. 18" roof raise. 4 kids, 1 wife, 2 dogs. Ill add a folding seat up front as well, but couldnt find a suitable one in sketchup. Our conversion is going to be oriented toward camping more so than full time living. We typically only camp in moderate climate and cook outside 95% of the time. We basically only sleep in our camper now. Ive added a fridge, sink/counter, and as much storage as I can fit. No TV's, no stove, no microwave. The wheel wells are going to pose a problem for the bathroom. Still working on a solution for that. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Kenny Rogers update

Ok ok! Lesson learned. I’ve never dropped trou to shit while riding. I guess I’m just not riding enough. TBF, it’s not like I picked up an Old Navy shirt. Plus, the trails aren’t that old so I’m banking more towards the murder scenario. Maybe decapitation based on the stains? I’ll hang it in my garage and it will make a good story.

Diesel noob question 02 7.3 E450 86k miles

Just picked up an 02 7.3 E450 86k miles. No blow by. Started up easily and drove it home but unsure if I’m hearing a knock at idle. The whole intake system was in pieces in the back of the vehicle…

u/Master-Bluejay9871 — 6 days ago

They said it didn’t run. 2002 Collins body 7.3L E450 with 86k miles

Brake calipers partially seized on the way home but we made it. New tires, new batteries, fluids all looked and smelled brand new. Full tank of fuel. Intake was removed but it fired right up. Stayed around 35mph the whole ride(15 miles). There was knock noise(maybe??) at idle. I’m new to diesels so I’m not sure if it sounds normal or not.

Unlocking 6th Gear?

I have a Clarke Power Services Remanufactured Allison 2000, at least I assume it is based on the ID tag. Do you know if this one is capable of unlocking 6th gear electronically? It has the 80 pin single connection. TCM was manufactured in second quarter of 2006. Ive read that later in 2006 they were capable of 6th without updating hardware. Ive emailed Charlie Ball but thought Id check here as well. 2007 IC CE300 DT466E TIA!

Frame cut/hole in block

I thought maybe they were just paying lip service to the EPA in the GovDeals auction listings I’ve seen that stated that the frame was cut and there was a hole in the block. I couldn’t find the hole in block but the cut frame was evident. This was a rust free 30ish foot flat front bluebird. Such a bummer.

Is Chuck on the Up and Up?

Not trying to gossip, just trying to determine if I should be concerned regarding his judgement/business practices. After watching entirely too much youtube, I was interested in hiring Chuck for solar/power consulting on my upcoming project. In an attempt to find current contact information for his business (now that the shop is defunkt) I found an article regarding a lawsuit between the two owners of Chrome Yellow. Ben Jackson accused Chuck of fraud and theft. I cant find any more information other than this article. Any of you had any direct experiences with him?

Is this a usb-link 3 clone?

eBay purchase. The Diesel laptop USB drive makes me think it’s real. The circuit board matches what I’ve seen for legit ones but the dongles seem like they might be the knock off versions. Thanks for any insight.

It’s official.

Excited to get started on this. 2007 IC CE300 DT466e 9 window. It looks bigger in pictures somehow. Super easy to drive. Check engine light came on on the 1 hour drive home but it drove fine and all vitals stayed within normal range. Ordered a nexiq clone and looking for a windows laptop. Might not have been maintained as well as hoped. It did come with extra parts and 6 name brand oil filters. Tires are good. Fluids were topped off. No leaks.

Auction fever might have cost me. 2007 IC CE(200 or 300) 9 window with DT466E and Allison 2000 series - 150k miles - $6k with fees

KY bus recently decommissioned. Listing was for 2006 bus, but turns out it’s a 2007 manufactured in June of 2006. Stated as having DT466e but I know this was a transition year to the maxxforce. I assume some 2007’s will still have the DT466e.  Got in a last minute bidding war and paid more than I wanted to.  Price doesn’t seem crazy… but I don’t feel great about it either.  Kinda feels like retail pricing. Its the size I wanted and almost the config I wanted. Not finding those unicorns. I guess I am just posting to ask you folks to make me feel better about my purchase! ;) Technically, the listing was misdescribed and falls under the GovDeals "misdescription guarantee". I would definitely pursue if it was in fact the maxxforce. What do you guys think? Do any of you have 2007+ models with the older engines? Otherwise, Im happy to be here and share in the community! Thanks in advance!

1994 Cummins 8.3 “Seized”

I’m going to look at an RV in the morning that is described as not running. Excellent condition otherwise. Seller says they were on a test drive with a potential buyer when the engine suddenly seized up. He said all fluids were checked prior to the test drive. My preliminary research says it could be oil starvation. Would that be a failed oil pump in that case? Hydro lock? Does that happen very quickly? They said the engine wouldn’t turn over manually. I thought I’d try and remove the serpentine belt and confirm it won’t move. Miles unknown. Any other things to check? Thanks!

GovDeals Auction Fun - No start after jump start and idling for an hour

Picking up a bus a long way from home. I spoke to the seller and after the auction was over they disclosed more information… In the description it stated “may need a jump”. On the phone he said it was “very hard to start, ran for an hour, then wouldn’t turn over again after turning the engine off and attempting to restart again.” He recommended going to the store immediately after leaving the lot and buying new batteries. 2002 Thomas Bus. 3126e MD3060. Does this sound like batteries? Alternator? Flooded in a hurricane? ;) It was a GovDeals auction from Miami Dade county govt. The guy was cagey on the phone and wouldn’t answer questions prior to auction ending. He said any questions had to go though GovDeals and then the answers provided on that platform were lacking at best.

2002 Thomas Cat 3126b with MD3060

I purchased this from GovDeals(Miami Police Dept.) As Is without inspection. Flying from Nashville to Miami with hopes of driving it home. Seller provided a video of the bus running and lot driving. Sounded like it was running ok… There was a prominent squealing while running that I assume is just a noisy belt. 165k miles on 2001/2002 Cat 3126b with Allison MD3060. Tires are 3-4 years old. Removed from service 6 months ago. Service schedule/records not provided. I’m a decent shadetree, but never worked on diesels. Is there anything I can do to improve my odds of making it home.
